Nothing offensive. I was just a freaking teen back then that liked certain guys more than others.

There was another post that said those same guys have done this before and do it just to get on camera. WWE made them wear shirts because they were taking attention off the performers by causing a distraction.

And? They pay solid money to be there. They should be able to have fun. They don't do anything outside the scope of wrestling. WWE should embrace die hard fans who show up like that. As some of the posts indicate:

I was at the show in September 2014, and I saw those guys in the front row. Honestly, I thought they were more entertaining than obnoxious. I was impressed that they stayed in character for the entire show, even outside of the arena. They shouldn't have been penalized for trying to have a good time.
This sub is fucking obsessed with the crowd not having the "wrong" kind of fun. Just fuck off and move to Japan.
Thank you. I don't know why people are so against a raucous crowd when the product is so dull and everyone (rightly) complains about it anyway. Do people not want to be distracted from "Big Show vs Rowan 32: This time it's slower"?
Ok, so you were in the vicinity of this group and when they noticed they were on camera they tried to get some of the spotlight. Which they did. In the background. Not the foreground.
Further, too much credit is being given to a small portion of the arena for taking away a good show, or disrespecting the superstars. Herein lies an assumption that the gravity of a crowd members active participation has massive repurcussions on the superstars performing. This is quite exaggerated. The crowd in their costumes were having fun, the people around them are having fun. They are still watching the wrestling matches. The people at home are still watching the wrestling matches.Yes they chanted other wrestlers names but if I were watching the broadcast at home, honestly, I wouldn't mind. And it's quite an assumption to suggest a wwe Superstar would legit be offended. This idea that fans can ruin events is way out of proportion. As soon as you start talking the moral highground and begin to support prohibition, you start playing a dangerous game.
Every sporting event I have ever attended has had what could be considered distracting fans in the crowd. Parents in attendance of pee wee and high school hockey or football games are more annoying and disrespectful than a bunch of costumed fans at a wrestling event. Drunk fans in the crowd at a pro football, basketball or baseball game are loud and obnoxious all of the fucking time and you might not ever even know it by watching it on television.
Does it take away from what is happening on the field? I suppose that is up for interpretation, but everyone that pays for a seat knows (or bloody well should) not every fan in attendance is going to behave like they are sitting in church. I'm not saying that it's right or that I haven't ever been mildly annoyed by somebody at a game or event, but I wouldn't let it determine whether or not I was going to have a good time because I paid for my seat so I give no fucks if someone is talking trash or anything like that. Ever go watch your local MLB squad play when the Yankees are in town? Even their fans didn't stop me from enjoying my miserable team.
So these guys were and have been ringside for events prior to this, big fucking deal. Big signs being held up at wrestling is more annoying than some cosplaying fans and even though signs are censored and some are not allowed due to an over abundance of particular focus they are more noticeable on TV and while in attendance than a handful of guys dressed up like superstars.
These guys paid for ring side seats on more than one occassion, so what if they are capering to the crowd? Returning to multiple events is called being a regular and it is good for any kind of business. They aren't throwing beer at the talent, giving the camera the finger or starting fights with other people so who the fuck cares if they put on a costume? These guys have been at this show a few times now? Good for them, that in itself is supporting the product (all four fucking matches) and if they are just dressing up to make the experience more fun for them then more power to 'em. From what I read from their Twitter posts these guys took it in stride and acted with nothing but class when they were censored, they should be patting themselves on the back like Barry Horrowitz.
I still disagree with the totalitarian attitude of WWE. In the past they maintained that if people paid their money to come to WWE shows, they got to cheer, boo, yell, and wear whatever they want within acceptable reason.
Now instead of that, WWE takes away signs with no outward vulgarity or inappropriateness because it doesn't fit their agenda, and makes people change out of costumes because they're in danger of being more entertaining than what's happening in the ring. Oh no, people in the crowd are playing to the camera, god forbid!
Wrestling used to be cool and anti-everything. Now WWE doesn't like it when people adhere to the standards set forth in the past by WWE itself about being able to express yourself within a reasonable limit at their shows. They've turned in to an unfun, beauracratic corporate behemoth.
Obviously if people are being disruptive and ruining other people's times that's a different story, but I just can't believe these dudes in costumes were ruining a crappy RAW with their antics. I realize it's impossible to know without being there. I see both sides, I just still fucking hate it. Why are there so many rules? It's a wrestling show, not god damned middle school.
How are they any different from any fan with a sign trying to get on the Tron or be a part of the camera sweep of the crowd? They've just perfected it with costumes and smarkery.
It would be a problem if the attention and action they drew to themselves wasn't more interesting than what is going on in the ring.

Considering how much WWE is trying to shape the narrative for the televised product going into Mania it's not surprising they would be doing this kind of stuff.

I had a friend that tried to get in with a blank sign. They escorted him to security and searched him for markers, because they didn't want him makin up a "obscene sign" on the spot.

Did they let him in with the blank sign? Because then all you have to do is be with someone and go separately and have the other person have markers lol.

Ever since the transition to HD, they moved all nonessential personel from ringside (extra photogs, etc) and started enforcing more rules on fans "camera side". There have been lots of groups of fans who dress up like this to try and get some tv focus. I think this is just a matter of them getting a little tired of that taking focus off what's in the ring constantly. They handled it poorly, but I get it. It is distracting to have a whole row of people in legends costumes on hardcam all night.

If you put on a good enough show, no one will notice the dressed up people for long. If whats happening on the television is boring as hell, it's not the fans fault.

I am personally distracted when I always see Brock Lesnar Fan and White Suit Fan in the front row. It really, really bothers me how they get all the cool seats to all the big shows. That's mostly just jealousy, though.

I wonder whatever happened to Faith No More Fan and Hawaiian Fan. Those guys were at almost every ECW show and most WWF shows that were in the northeast.

Funny Bret Hart story (well, kinda of….)

When I was 17 or 18 I trolled Bret Hart so bad. It was after the Montreal Screwjob, but before his TV WCW debut. I went to buy tickets for a WCW house show and as part of the promotion, Bret was there for an autograph signing. So being the huge Shawn Michaels mark that I was, I decided to spice it up a little bit. I go up to get my autograph and I'm like "SHAWN MICHAELS RAN YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY OUT OF TOWN! SUCK IT!"

(this was like 4 weeks or 6 weeks or something after the Screwjob, so he was still heated about the whole thing, like LEGIT heated)

So Bret all of a sudden gets up all pissed off and gets in my face, and we're chest to chest screaming in each others faces like a freaking promo for Wrestlemania. Honestly the place was packed and there was like hundreds of people standing around with OMG looks on their faces. I mean I had the spotlight on me, and Bret and I were going to war, right up in each others faces. I was yelling how HBK owns him, and Shawn Michaels is the greatest wrestler ever, and DX ran his sorry ass out of WWE, and he was screaming about how he got screwed and how Shawn was a bitch and all sorts of epicness, like LEGIT pissed off. I thought we were going to get in a freaking fight.

This went on for like 60 seconds, which may not sound like a long time, but when you're 2 inches from Bret Hart's face and screaming at each other, doing DX catch phrases and having a huge mark war, its a long time.

So finally security gets involved and splits us up, and my friend is behind me, and Bret signs his picture "I BEAT VINCE, I BEAT SHAWN, AND I BEAT THE WWE!" or something like that. Then I go, after everything, "Dude, can you sign mine like that too?"

And he goes "No get out of here." LOL

So anyway, fast forward like 3 or 4 months for the actual show we were there buying tickets for. We're in the first row, and Bret has his match. I think it was a tag match against/with the Big Show and some other people, but I don't remember. Anyway, I had owned the documentary "Wrestling with Shadows" and had always remembered how bent Bret was in it about something some guy said to him, "You're just a phony. You're just a phony wrestler."

So Bret is fighting out side the ring and he ended up like getting smashed into the barricade RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. And just to be an obnoxious asshole, I start yelling "YOU'RE JUST A PHONY! YOU'RE JUST A PHONY WRESTLER"

Bret turns and looks at me and right away I could tell he recognized me from the autograph signing fiasco. All of a sudden he gives me the fucking crazy eyes. He looked like a kid in elementary school getting bullied that finally snaps. For like 2 seconds I legit thought he was gonna beat my ass right there. I mean he got serious crazy eyes. I could honestly see the moment when his brain realized it was me.

Anyway, I think it was the Big Show, but someone grabbed him right when I seriously thought I was getting punched in the mouth, and they tossed him into the ring, and that was the end of it.

Anyway, that's my epic Bret Hart story. I probably sound like a huge asshole, but it was a different time, different era, and the Monday Night Wars were on like Donkey Kong.

Wrestling was so much cooler back in the day. I was cutting' promos on the Hitman lol

I think it was Scott Hall who legit stomped out a fan who came in the ring once. There's certain wrestlers I've seen who wouldn't hesitate at all to hit a fan lol.

Just announced for NXT access at WM weekend is a four person tournament with the winner getting a spot in the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal. My guess will be either Adrian Neville or Finn Balor. Other two in it are Tyler Breeze and Hideo Itami
