General WWE Discussion: Roman Weeps, Taker Retires, MNK/SAM/RDM LFP

Just got back from Border Wars Night 1. That was an insane show. You have to get it just to see the main event. Was absolutely incredible. I was lucky to get a seat right on the aisleway on the entrance side four rows back. Got to high five all the wrestlers coming in. After the show I asked Steve Corino if the evil is ever coming back (this was his face gimmick prior to creating SCUM where he was trying to "sober" up from his evildoings with Kevin Steen. He said he was where he needed to be (as a colourman along side Kevin Kelly).

It was Team ROH (Briscoes, Hanson, Ray Rowe, and Roderick Strong) vs. Bullet Club (AJ Styles, Young Bucks, Karl Anderson, and DOC Gallows).

Just got back from Global Wars Night 2. It was a long 4-hour TV taping. The best matches happened at the end. Nakamura was the most over Japanese star the past two nights. This was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go back to the same arena in July for House of Hardcore.

Hype guy comes out, no idea who it is. Don't care.
Jojo comes out. She is beautiful in person. Her mic doesn't work. Sign of things to come.

Enzo, Cass, and Carmella come out. Enzo's mic does work(thank god). Enzo and Cass do their thing. Lot's of "How you doin'?" chants. Enzo and Cass say they will win the titles tonight. Blake and Murphy came out to lots of "you look stupid" chants. They had their hair weird. One was pig tails and the other was like a top knot.
Solid match, Enzo was in trouble a lot of the time. Funny spot where one of Blake and Murphy tried jump off the back other the other into Enzo, but slipped and went like sort of head first into his stomach. People chanting "you fucked up" and he yells at the crowd "it was the pig tails to the abdomen." Cass came in and cleaned house. He gets some fucking height on his corner splash. Enzo got a really close 3 off a roll up. End came when Blake rolled up Enzo and Blake put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage. Afterwards, the tag champs retreated only to back into Cass who chased the sweet boys back to the ring. Carmella snuck up behind them and nut punched one of them. Enzo and Cass took out the other and then three three celebrated in the ring.

Next up was Solomon Crowe against Bull Dumpsey. Nothing special, but nothing offensive either. Crowe won with the stretch muffler.

Tye Dillinger came out holding a big 10 sign. He got on the mic and said he was a perfect 10, but Albany was a zero. Jason Jordan then came out. Jordan's size is legit. Tye did a comedy bit where he didn't want to give up his sign. Ref took it away and he took a smaller 10 sign out from under his shirt and held it up. Ref took that away too. Dillinger then took a really tiny 10 sign, the size of a match book, out from his boot. It was weird he cut a hellish promo 30 seconds before and then was doing comedy that really got him over with the crowd. People started chanting perfect 10, etc. Jordan ended up taking the mid-sized 10 sign and saying he was a ten a few times during the match. Dillinger ended up winning when he hit Jordan with a sort-of codebreaker move. Basically drove Jordan's face into his knee when he dropped down.

Next up was Charlotte vs Sasha Banks. I can't even express just how awesome this match was. Lots of back and forth, hard hitting stuff. Charlotte did the Flair flop at one point. Everyone marked for that. Sasha did a lot of mock woo'ing and the Flair strut. Really sick part where Charlotte locked on the figure four, Sasha reversed it, Charlotte reversed it again and was really close to the edge of the ring. When Sasha reversed it again, Charlotte fell out of the ring, but kept the figure four on. Essentially Charlotte was using her entire body weight on the hold, but the ref forced a break because she was outside. End came when Charlotte tapped to the Banks Statement after reversing it a few times into near pinfalls.

After intermission, Baron Corbin came out to a lot of heckling. His opponent was the Innovator of Violent, Tommy Dreamer. Corbin dominated most of the match, but he punches as much as fucking Cena. It wasn't very interesting. Dreamer got him up for the death valley driver at one point, but Corbin slipped out. End of Days finished it.

Next up was N-BEX-T! and Dana Brooke against Alexa Bliss and Bayley. Bayley is so fucking over it is insane. Fun match. Dana Brooke got her power stuff in, Alexa Bliss did a bunch of flippy shit, Becky Lynch didn't actually do much, and Bayley got most of her spots in. Bayley to belly to Dana Brooke ended the match.

Last up was a three way for the NXT championship. First out was Tyler Breeze. He does his normal thing ending up resting on the top ropes. There were some weird ass technical issues with the lights at this point. They couldn't seem to get them to go off from Balor entrance. They were trying for a few minutes and nothing was happening. Breeze did a funny spot where he looked around, shrugged, and raised his arms in victory. "New champion" chant broke out. Eventually Balor came out, did his entrance with the lights fully on. Last Kevin Owns came out. He spent his good as time at the top of the stage, to where Balor and Breeze were joking with each other. Balor got so bored, he called for a fans Gatorade bottle, took a swig, stepped outside the ropes, spit the Gatorade like he was Triple H. I wish I had my camera ready for it, but it happened so fast and out-of-the-blue.
Match started and Owens immediately stepped outside the ring and sat down on a chair where the guardrails met. "Sit Owens Sit" chant. Breeze and Balor started beating each other. Balor with a chop and Owns started a "one more time" chant. Owns finally comes in to break up a pinfall. Breeze and Owns did this awesome comedy bit where Owens would just yell at Breeze to do things "We are going to whip him in the ropes and then grab my and and we will clothesline him." Breeze asked for a high five and Owens looked at him incredulously and said no. They double team Balor some more, Owens raises his hand and Breeze does nothing "high five me".
Alliances died when Owens goes to pin Balor and Breeze breaks it up. Breeze gets thrown to the side later in the match, Balor does a dive onto Owens on the outside. They fight up the ramp where Owens teases a powerbomb on the stage. Balor reverses and throws Owens off then does the foot stomp on the floor. They eventually get back in the ring and Breeze has the upper hand. He goes to do a superplex on Owens, but Balor gets Breeze on his shoulders. Breeze slinks off and SUPERKICK(insert Corino voice) to Balor. Owens does a cannonball from the top onto Owens. Owens also did the five knuckle shuffle to Balor. A little later Breeze does another superkick to Balor, only to eat a Pele kick in return. End comes when Owens does the pop-up powerbomb to Breeze and gets the one two three.
After the match, Balor and Ownens fight some mode. Balor gets the upper hand and chases Ownens away. Balor grabs the mic, says he is coming for the title. Balor says to give it up for all the people that wrestled earlier in the card and this is NXT.

Was such a fun night.

Looking forward to the ppv tonight. Pretty good card. I really want Ascension to go somewhere other than back into their graves. They were very entertaining in NXT.

Tbh the best thing about Ascension has always been their music. They worked out OK with the NXT crowd getting involved, but overall they're just not that great imo.

Also the face paint they got during the callup looks awful
