There are only three types of pro wrestling news on the Internet:
1. Show recaps where people pretend they could do a better job than the professionals (got those covered)
2. Backstage gossip that is 5% true at best
3. Updates about wrestlers dying or going to jail
Believe it or not there is occasionally good wrestling news, and I’m happy to share an example of that with you now — WWE tag team champion Daniel Bryan responded to a request from 7-year-old kid with brain cancer to visit him in the hospital and let him tap D-Bry out to his own submission hold. It’s one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time, both because of how heartening it is to know my favorite wrestler in the world is an awesome guy beyond the camera and because this kid has fantastic taste and didn’t just ask for John Cena.

It all started with a YouTube video of 7-year-old Connor Michalek making a plea to meet his all-time favorite WWE wrestler, Daniel Bryan.
The Shaler Township boy was diagnosed with cancer of the brain and spine when he was just 3-years-old. He’s had multiple surgeries and several rounds of chemotherapy.
Word of Conner’s desire to meet the WWE star spread like wildfire on social media and local radio stations. And on Tuesday, Conner’s wish to meet Bryan and put him in his signature “no lock” position came true. (via Pittsburgh CBS Local)

DBry was already one of my favorite wrestlers because everyone doubted he could make it because of his lack of personality. But this just solidified it, he's the best. Great thing for him to do. Not taking anything away from Cena but he gets too much shine compared to the others that go out and do their thing for the fans.

I'll admit a manly tear was shed there. You can tell meeting Bryan and Kane made that kids year. My wife who hates wrestling and groans when I turn it on even loves all the make a wish stuff they do for the kids.

As much I love Hell No, I wouldn't really say they revived the division. As of now most Tag teams outside of the PTP, the Usos and Primo and Epico are mainly just quasi random single wrestlers thrown together since they had nothing else going on. It's not helping the actual tag teams or bringing up any up and comers, it's still mostly Midcard/former main eventers fighting for the belts while actual tag teams do their best to make everyone else look good. Until the belts are on a full time Tag Team like Usos or PTPs and we actually see more new tag teams instead of just random people with separate entrances vying for the belts, the division is still on it's death bed. Hell No is life support to keep it going, but tag teams are far from revived.

Also, just a personal irk, but I hate how they keep calling Rhodes and Sandow "TEAM Rhodes-Scholars". Why not just call them the Rhode Scholars like they were actually a tag team? Also, I think Sandow was doing better on his own without Cody for the past few weeks. They need to break up and let the PTP take up the mantle of number 1 heel team.

I, for one, will not complain if PTP never ascend the company ladder. But my main problem with most of the "true" tag teams is that they're just plain forgettable or annoying at best (PTP). While I wouldn't expect Hell No to stay together forever, they've at least done some funny shit. I'm also expecting an eventual beard vs. beard match between DB and Sandow.

Sadly we got spoiled by the great tag teams of the 70s-90's. Rock N Roll Express, Rockers, Hart Foundation, Money Inc, Hardy's, E&C, Dudleys, Too Cool, etc. Hell, when is the lsat great stable we had that actually lasted longer then a couple of months? Not counting Hunters two Factions, I think the last big one was Corporate Ministry. I miss the days of Four Horseman, NWO, etc running roughshod over everyone.

Nexus? Corre? Legacy? All lasted more than a few months. But just like championship reigns, nothing is ever going to match back in the day for length. Back in the day a champion would wrestle like once a month and put his title up for taking every few months. We just don't live in that world anymore. WWE has like 4 or 5 shows. Like 8 hours of programming each week. Everything has to be fast paced, you're not gonna get title reigns, feuds, or factions that last years. Its just a change in the speed of the product.

I think the biggest problem with the Straight Edge Society was credibility. Punk was incredible, but they never made you feel like Gallows or anybody else was legit. One of the reasons the original nWo worked so well was the downright classic dynamic of big bad (Hogan), dragon (Nash), and the wild card (Hall). Hall and Nash were established early as such huge threats that they ended up remaking Hogan an untouchable heel. Oftentimes he was literally untouchable because of them.

How great would the SES have been (or even the New Nexus) if anybody besides Punk had some credibility? Have Gallows run through jobbers like Ryback and make sure it looks like a daunting task to go through him to get to Punk. Punk can still prove he can go, but looks all the more devious for having big muscle do the work for him. Then down the line have Gallows turn on him if you built it up correctly it draws some money.

Now I feel like re-reading the Death of WCW.
