Toxicity can fuck off if the RNG doesn't play nice and give you a wattle bottle or two before the district you're in gets hit by it. Story mode stuff is unlocked via collecting those article things that pop up on the map for you to collect. Not quite sure how I feel about the game. Put in four hours tonight, need a few more to figure out if I like it or not. Mostly just going in, unlock the animal objective so I got something new to try out when I eventually die, and then try to clear as many objectives as I can to unlock shit to dress up my animals with.
My cat run ended up failing after five generations thanks to back2back2back toxic rain on all the neighboring districts I was hunting in, and I couldn't keep hunger up thanks to animals being toxic to eat during my time of need, so I ended up dying then. Working on beagle atm, four generations in, going smooth, other than accidentally killing a tiger (heavy smog, couldn't see shit, took a clean kill when I saw one at the edge of the screen), and pissing off three others in the nearby vicinity where I just gunned it out of there by abusing the dodge mechanic to move quicker.
Game feels like it's just a glimpse at what more it could be, but due to development/time constraints they just kept things simple with the Survival mode being the main attraction, even though all the animals start off at the same district. It's holding my attention anyhow though, so that's a good thing. Perhaps a sequel down the road can expand the original scope of the game.
