We've already established how people feel about playing the lottery, so no need to bring that aspect up.

The Maryland winner of the recent $656M jackpot turned out to be a McDonald's employee. They had a pool where ~15 people pitched in $5 each. The woman claims she purchased the pool's tickets then purchased her own ticket separately. Now she is claiming that the winning ticket was the one she played separately and not the pools. Long story short, these things usually get heard before a jury. I find it hard to believe that jury of her peers are going to conceed that $105M (after taxes) will go solely to her. They are going to sympathize with the employees and have it split is my guess.

Ya if the article isn't spinning anything, it's pretty obvious the ticket was part of the pool, so the court will claim she has to split it.
