Well, its their favorite combination really; cheap with dubious appeal (no, really we "get" T&E guys; its just that it is still terrible). It probably won't get any better, even with the apparent elimination of almost all the live-action stuff on the Cartoon Network side (assuming orders from the top, etc.). I'm almost certain the current suits came in after the amazingly fucktarded aftermath that resulted from the ATHF Lite-Brite "bomb" scare in 2007; which could actually fit with when CN and AS really began shifting towards live-action stuff in the year after that (roughly).
The whole Loiter Squad thing is basicly a black Jackass; its even produced by the same studio. I don't see why they couldn't have just shopped it to MTV or something; surely 15 minute breaks between Jersey Shore or some teen preggo show couldn't be a total disaster.
Well, look at how popular stupid and nonsensical memes with shock value are on the internet. Most flashes, for example, just don't make any fucking sense and run completely in the vein of the [as] original shows that are exceedingly stupid. There is definitely a market out there for that kind of stuff, I just can't get inside the head of someone who can appreciate it. I prefer at least a little sense in what I view. I guess it's possible that it's made for people who are doped up on something to enjoy.
Boondocks and Venture Brothers are the shit though, good stuff.
The last time I was excited for watching AS was when they were airing Death Note and then Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex back to back in a 2 hour block of time. Other than Metalocalypse I could care less about it now, but would watch the shit out of it if they put decent/great animes.
I initially thought I could easily make a list of good shows for them to start up with.. but as I went through my list I realized that most of it has either a crappy dub or no dub at all.
Maybe some Baccano, Black Lagoon, Cromartie High School, Initial D? First two are pretty graphic though. I'm starting to think that Toonami would need to be run like it was on april fools, aimed towards late teens and older.
WTF are you serious?? More reason to hate them. I thought "Tom goes to the Mayor" was/is garbage. I can't stand their "Awesome" show either. Adult Swim used to be cool with Space Ghost, The Brack Show, Sealab, etc, but now they put on shows like Tim & Eric and I just simply cannot watch the channel anymore.
I wouldn't call Durarara their strongest pick, but they've certainly picked some stinkers in the past. Or at the very least, have overplayed numerous things.
I personally couldn't stand the durarara dub. Some of the voices were good, but some of them were just... annoying.
Well if we're basing judgment solely on the merit of how the show is SUPPOSED to be (that is, not dubbed), Durarara is a great show. I think it's one of the best I've ever seen honestly. It's pretty original and off-the-wall while still having an engaging story and some surprising twists. It sucks that anime only plays dubbed on TV. If only people were more interested in viewing shows and movies in their original language....
A bad dub, though, will put people off even if they haven't seen it in its original language. It could ruin the entire show for someone.![]()
My thoughts on Durarara are it has some pacing issues and ultimately suffers from being a depiction of an incomplete work. Where it stopped pretty much sucks for anyone wanting some real closure on pretty much everything beyond the kids learning their ties to the organizations.

This makes me happy.
Their weekend schedule looks fairly tight. Might just bookmark this if only to have some background noise in the later evening, too.

I might actually tune into Cartoon Network more than 1 hour a week now, holy shit. Digimon, X-Men animated series, Batman animated series, Batman Beyond, G Gundam, Ippo dubbed, holy fucking shit.
Seeing Dragonball Abridged on there was kinda weird and unexpected. I really hope this isn't some dedicated troll by them.
If they actually bring it back I hope it's not just a nostalgia trip, I hope they actually show new shows and get kids watching.
Looking back on it my biggest question is why they went from showing things like DBZ, Outlaw Star, and 08th MS Team to tripe like Code Lyoko, Zatch Bell, and IGPX. Did licensing fees go up, did S&P tell them to show softer stuff, or did they just start picking shitty titles?
uh Zatch Bell was fucking awesome. Only bad part is iirc the anime never fully animated the manga final arc.
But seriously Folgore was GAR as fuck. Tanks hits from Mamodo and doesn't afraid of anything.
Oh shit
Beastwars? Fuckyeah
Team Four Star DBZ abridged on the line up, awesome
I'm liking the Cartoon Cartoon line up. Courage, Johnny Bravo and the rest of the "classics"
Is this on tv or just streaming on that site from the link provided? Just for nostalgia I'm kinda thrilled to see DBZ and Sailor Moon lol.
Edit: Actually, a lot of shows that I haven't seen in ages, damn. This is pretty neat.
