Saw it yesterday, was brilliant. I really thought it was over when the party started but oh boy it just got better.

Loved all the meta-fuckery going on. The horror movie archetypes are artificially set up; the virgin's not a virgin, the jock's on a full academic scholarship, the smart guy's a better athlete than the jock; at some point the guard in the control room calls the things "like something out of a nightmare" and Josh Lyman says something like "actually it's the other way around"; the ancient gods are blatantly movie studios, and the control room people are frustrated writers/directors hoping for something original but getting redneck zombies again; the horrors around the world are going for the archetypes of different horror - "Ring" girl for Japan etc. And eaten by an ugly merman. Brilliant.

I did call the whole sacrifice thing about 20 minutes in, but it was still an astoundingly good movie. Would watch again.

I like the stuff you said. Was the song at the end Marilyn Manson?

Finally got around to seeing this, and I really loved it! :D

I lost track of the redneck zombies, though, and am confused. They mostly looked the same to me, except the little girl. Wasn't there 4 in total, including the girl? Or was there 5?

Zombie #1 drags Marty off and is dismembered, out for the count.

Zombie #2 gets stabbed while hanging upside down, by Dana.

Zombie #3 hides in the RV and sinks to the bottom of the lake.

Zombie #4-Little Girl kills Sigourney Weaver at the end and falls into the pit of the old Gods.

...was there a fifth zombie that attacked Dana at the docks? Or was it Zombie #2 or 3 who came back? I'm confuuuuused!

Also, "husband bulge" is one of the best things I've ever heard.

There was the father, the two sons, the daughter and the mother. The father is the one who always uses the bear trap. The brother that used the giant hand saw is also the one in the RV, other son used the spade thing that gets chopped up by Marty, the little girl missing her arm and then you barely see the mother. She's only seen when Dana is in her room alone and blocking up the windows

Do the monsters on the board match up to what gets released at the end? I remember seeing many of them show up, but I don't recall if all of them were shown in one way or another at the end.

I can't speak for all of them but yes the majority should be in there during the "cages" scene and end fuckery.

*Actually I take that back. There was some stuff on that list and in the cages that weren't represented either on the list or on screen.

Ronald the intern is seen at the bottom right of the big screen.

According to drew Goddard:

The cards say, "Help!" then "I'm trapped in a utility closet" then "A dragonbat has my scent" then finally "I'm Ronald the Intern."

And now I have a new hobby; going through that last part of the movie again and trying to see everything that's going on. XD I'm fairly certain I caught a glimpse of the Dismemberment Goblins, but I'm still not sure if I can see Kevin anywhere.
