Federal authorities say they intend to file a lawsuit against Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio and his department over allegations of civil rights violations. The U.S. Justice Department sent a letter dated Wednesday to lawyers for the Maricopa County sheriff, giving his office "notice of intent to file civil action."

As an aside, apparently, ALL NEWS IS HAPPENING THIS WEEK.
Where the fuck was everything two weeks ago when I was bored off my ass.

Holy fucking shit Batman! How did i miss that one? I would think that would've been all over the news here in AZ.

    Oh this is why......

PHOENIX (AP) - Gov. Jan Brewer has signed a bill to loosen Arizona's requirement that health plans cover contraception.

The bill stirred months of debate in the state Legislature both for its potential impact on women's health plan coverage and because of privacy concerns.

Under the legislation, employers which formally identify themselves as religiously oriented organizations can drop contraception coverage for birth control purposes. They'd still have to provide it for other medical purposes.

The legislation relaxes a decade-old state law that generally requires employers' health plans to cover contraception. That law lets churches opt out of the mandate.

The bill originally would have allowed any employer to opt out due to religious objections.

The bill's final version gave the opt-out to religiously oriented organizations. Those include church-affiliated hospitals and charities.
That's all the effort they put into their coverage. It's like were going back in time, soon women will have voting restrictions and employers will use lie detectors to to make sure your only doing the missionary position.

Let's not go crazy now...at least the change states that they will still have to provide the contraceptive if its being prescribed for reasons other then contraceptive. Im more accepting of that, then if they out right choose not to cover it period. Their choice imo, even if I think they handle it all pretty stupidly...

It is how they have to go about making sure the women is only using it for medical use. One can easily interpret that a women had sex while on the pill and no longer using it only for medical. Basically if a woman has sex at any point and time while on the pill she and is found out, she is liable to get cut off. Below is talking about the same bill.

Arizona legislators have advanced an unprecedented bill that would require women who wish to have their contraception covered by their health insurance plans to prove to their employers that they are taking it to treat medical conditions. The bill also makes it easier for Arizona employers to fire a woman for using birth control to prevent pregnancy despite the employer's moral objection.
Sex with Husband, fiancee, boyfriend at any point and time. This is just a suttle way to control a womans ability to prevent pregnancy in my opinion. But im an avid believer in pro-choice so my view points might be a little extreme for some.

Moreover, according to the American Civil Liberties Union, the law would give Arizona employers the green light to fire a woman upon finding out that she took birth control for the purpose of preventing pregnancy.

Ugh... "employers shouldn't be forced to pay for things they morally disagree with!"

Fucking derp. Do they think that employer health insurance is some kind of charity you should be thankful for, and not a form of compensation, just like a paycheck? The next logical step is allowing employers to audit every purchase from money earned on their payroll, and fire anyone who buys a dragon dildo.

Actually... that makes total sense. Maybe the average GOP voter really doesn't understand that insurance comes from their earnings; it would explain a lot.

Actually this makes a lot of sense. Now I see why I should be more outraged, thanks.
