While it was played up alot as part of Civil War, Cap's death honestly had very little to do with it.

Also when I was watching this movie, I was kind of upset that I completely missed the name Rumlow until the very end. I kept wondering why random Shield/Hydra agent guy kept getting so much facetime

There were other things in Civil war other than Caps death though. Look at the Helicarriers targeting mutants/people with powers. That's a massive interlude to the Civil war. Shield/Hydras fear of powered people, ect ect. IMO, it seems thats where these movies are leading.

First film was a plodding bore because of the origin story. They kept the movie going and even at 2:30 it never really felt like it dragged. It's superior to the first cap film in every possible way.

Someone explain the post-credits shit to me because I didn't get it. Are they just setting up another episode of Agents of SHIELD like they did at the end of Thor 2?

I really enjoyed this movie. Comic nerd boner the entire time.

They are but Marvel can use them because of a legal loophole. Because they are more normally associated as members of the avengers Marvel can use them as long as they dont use the word Mutant and don't bring up their connection to Magneto.

Question on a scene in the movie

During the Helicarrier targeting scene there, did anyone get a good read on the list of names? I am kind of excited to see a list of that when someone gets a video of the movie and picks it apart. What mutants or people with powers were targeted. Will be awesome with references.

And christ yes, the strange mention had me giddy when they said it.

The only ones I recognized were the President (forget his name) and Tony Stark (conveniently in Stark Tower in NYC instead of Malibu). Also, I had completely forgotten that Gary Shandling was in Iron Man 2 and had a good laugh at him as random HYDRA guy. Shit is about to get hype on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D....also really good Stan Lee cameo.

Just out of curiosity, did Whedon and such go into why they're adding Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch into the universe? I mean, if you have Magneto and co. like in X-Men, the tie in is obvious, but they seem like kinda odd choices to add into the Avengers universe.

Also, when he falls off the helicarrier after he refuses to fight bucky and lands in the water, someone (very obviously a white girl) whisper-yelled to her friend "omg is he dead?" to which somebody replied "NO BITCH HE'S CAPTAIN A-GODDAMN-MERICA" and I had another hearty chuckle

Wanda plays a big part in a lot of Avengers related stories, but so much of that material is difficult to do without referencing mutants. But to me it seems like

they were pretty drugged up, maybe they will be sleeper agents for Hydra in the Avengers? In which case, they have a way better skill set to cause some trouble compared to Hawkeye.

Movie was alright. Definitely the best of the phase 2 movies though. Action was there but some repetitive elements are getting dull.

Just got back, awesome movie. It's easily a top tier marvel film, rivaling Avengers and Iron Man 1. Pretty solid story, amazing action scenes, good comedy moments. I felt so bad for DC executives when I walked out of the theater.
