though in Marchand's defense it turns out it wasn't a dive lol...he didn't get hit illegally from what I saw, but watching NHLN last night before bed, they showed a cutaway to him after he got up and it looked like he had a bloody lip. Not sure how it happened but he did at least get a stinger to warrant grabbing his face for a few seconds it looked like.

More than a few of my Caps brethren have said the same thing. Game 7 of WAS/PIT in '09 comes to mind (although that was here in DC.)

Edit: but in all seriousness, it looks like the cut either came from the contact with his shoulder or when he hit the ground. Either way that hit made me fucking happy inside.

Yeah it's nice to see a shithead get stung, I just think it's shitty to accuse someone of diving when they didn't since in my book that's a pretty egregious offense. I think the hit was perfectly legal but at the least it looks like Marchand clutching his head was legit.

Watching the encore of the game from last night on NHL network atm, the hit wasn't too long ago and to me it doesn't look like he's diving at all. But rewatching one of the tripping penalties Washington got made me do a double take. I was like, when did Kesler get traded to Boston?!
