Despite what a six game sample size says stats-wise, most hockey fans and analysts think Chicago needs an upgrade on Crawford and I'd bet most Chicago fans also do not feel comfortable moving forward with him. Most hockey fans and analysts are not calling for the Pens to trade Fleury / look for a new goalie / etc. And most Penguins fans are comfortable moving forward with him. Flyers scored almost exactly half their goals on a PP or into an empty net (14 of 30 - 12 PPGs, 2 ENGs). Did Fleury have a rough series? Yeah. He had a few softies. He also had about 20 backdoor tap ins or breakaways too. But I trust him at this point in his career to be a professional and buckle down and work hard at righting his fundamentals ship and coming back stronger and more determined than ever next Spring. And can't hurt that Ray Shero will throw overboard at least one of the teamkillers that was shooting cannon holes into Fleury's ship by being constantly useless.
Honestly, the Penguins defensive performance was so bad that when the players would idly stand there - not blocking a lane, not tying up a man - that they were worse than traffic cones. Because, at least if they were traffic cones, they'd be orange, and they might blend in and the Flyers might accidentally pass the puck into one of them.
