Let’s look at the stats here.

The Blues have averaged 2.5 goals per game this season, while the sharks just barely beat them at 2.7 goals per game. But let’s look at defense St. Louis is fucking first in goals against this year with 1.9 per game. They have the most solid defense out of any fucking team in either division. Not only that but they have two amazing goalies in Halak and Elliot. But let’s look at the shark’s defense… wait, that’s right.

The only way you are going to outscore the blues is putting 25+ shots on net which is not going to happen. Maybe it will happen in one game or even two but no fucking way you will be able to break through the Blues. They have a the 8th best penalty kill in the league at 85.8% while the sharks have the second best power play at 21.2% it’s not going to mean shit when you will be shut down all over the place. Not only that but, players will tighten up on there penalties so that is going to be a very chances for you to do anything.
The Blues swept the sharks this season 4-0.

San Jose hasn’t finished with fewer then I believe 99 points or lower then 5th seed since 2003, 9 FUCKING YEARS AGO. You guys have been inconstant all year. There is no way you are making past the first round. I’m sorry bro, it’s not going to fucking happen, last year was the year if you guys were going to do anything but you couldn’t. Most of our players were injured some not even playing at all and you guys still dropped 3 games and couldn’t finish us off in decent fashion. Not to mention that but how abysmal you guys where versus the Canucks.

While Detroit might not, it’s not going to be a blood bath like this St Louis vs San Jose will be.

I honestly just don't think San Jose is tough enough either. As STL you aren't going to intimidate certain teams, namely Wings/Preds, and for that matter the Hawks simply because it's a Central matchup and those teams pretty much don't afraid of anything against each other. Certain other matchups though are just bad because of playstyle, St. Louis will likely manhandle someone like SJ or LA who just aren't gritty enough. SJ or LA would be a good matchup for someone like Chicago who would give them more room to show off their skill. Chicago or Phoenix would be a better match against STL as they can skate fast enough to not get physically beaten down in board battles by having to dump & chase all the time.

The regular season record means nothing. Last year the Rangers were 4-0 over the Caps last yea rand ended up losing in 5 games.

Sharks could easily put up 25+ shots on the Blues, they're one of the highest shooting teams in the league. The Blues are relatively inexperienced too, and Hitchcock/Tippett style teams tend to lose an edge in the playoffs where scoring becomes even harder. I think the series will be even closer than most imagine.

St. Louis has been slumping of late, though. I don't know if teams have finally figured it out or the guys on their team just took the foot off the gas since they were so far up in the standings, but they haven't been as dominant as they were a month after Hitch took over. Their lack of playoff experience compared to SJ is what makes me think they'll end up losing. SJ spent like half of the season last year out of the playoffs but still made it to the WCF. They know what they're doing... for the first round, at least.
