last derail post, but the really interesting shit is in like, velocity and duration of growth when you have people who experience deprivation; if it's for a short enough duration they'll experience 'catch up' growth, if it's sustained, people will keep growing, sometimes even into their twenties, but they don't reach the same average height as those who have normal environmental factors and stop growing at 17/18.

That was my main problem from about 10-17 I was left on my own to take care of myself. (Dad worked over season for 6th months at a time only back for maybe a week and mother enjoyed the grandpa's cough medicine) so my diet was shit poor and continued into till 3 years ago. That and I picked up smoking when I was 14. I always loved learning about the effects of diet on a person and it's mostly represented in the demographics I mentioned.
