My mom owns a couple horses but she lives in the middle of bumfuck nowhere so cost of living is dirt cheap, allowing her to afford them on a professor's salary.
I hate other "horse people", though. They're so obnoxious. Most are fundamentally incapable of holding a conversation about anything that isn't horses. It gets old fast.
Wait...so your mother was doing something that she knows is dangerous, even for the very experienced, gets hurt, and then decides that is it for horses for everybody? That sounds shitty![]()
My father owned two horses at his home in Colorado. We (my sister and I) grew up riding Western style out there and would regularly participate in the local gymkhana. Did all the classic stuff: barrel racing, pole bending, keyhole. We would regularly place, too :D When my father sold that house he got rid of the horses, and his quarter horse actually ended up with a famous barrel racer, but I can't remember her name >.<
I tried riding English a few times, but that shit is retarded.
Ha awesome, ya western > english for sure. I used to do halter classes and showmanship for a while. I tried barrel racing but was too much of a chicken shit for it XD. So yea pretty much, she broke all the horses we had, but the last one bucked her off, came down on her leg and messed up her back pretty bad. My dad used to do saddle bronc riding for a little bit, but his wife now has a couple Arabians that she rides once in a while, my mom had appaloosas till she sold them off. I had already moved out of the house when she was selling them, so I didn't have much of a say in it. Where in Colorado, Pirian? I live in Denver at the moment but used to live up around Fort Collins/Loveland.
Uhh I'm not sure exactly where the house was, but the mail box was in Florissant, and that was probably 30-40 minutes away from the house. My father had an office in Divide, and we would regularly drive to Woodland Park. All this is on the other side of Pikes Peak, opposite of Colorado Springs. He owned 40~ acres, which essentially amounted to the entire side of the small mountain he lived on. It had the most perfect view of Pikes Peak, and I wish I had a photo on my laptop to post.
I actually just visited a buddy of mine that is in school out in Boulder, and besides flying into Denver, we spent a few hours there at Casa Bonita, lol. I love it out in out in Colorado, though -- my favorite state :D
Edit: Why is Pikes Peak and Cheyenne Mountain not on the map? <.< I could understand Cheyenne Mountain, but am I blind or something? Using google maps
Yea it's not too bad of a state, I hate how freaking dry it is! I do however love going up into the mountains whenever I can.
After spending most summers in near 100% humidity, I LOVED going to CO and having it be 100 degrees out and going "what, is that it?" The only thing that sucks is always waking up the first morning with a horrible sore throat because my body hasn't adjusted to dryness yet.
I'd put it about on par with getting head from a tranny.
Same. I wouldn't say only non-parasitic animals I hate, but close to. They act stupidly and smell even worse than dogs, but worst of all they've got stupid heads. They look like Sarah Jessica Parker, ffs! That should be grounds for extermination! Hell, maybe she's the modern identity of Echidna, mother of all monsters, defending her last surviving spawn.
This thread turned into horses instead of tits. Disappoint.
Well, we already have a thread for tits, and we already have a thread for horse lovers.
We really need a thread to discuss burning buildings.
The humor being that there is one "l" in Poland.
