Haiko, stop using random acronyms and spell out your words and I can answer your question lol
    As for the movie....
    Spoiler: show
The crop field scene at the end. As soon as they came out of Joe's vision of what was about it happen, and I realize it hadn't happened yet, and saw he only had his blunderbus, I knew he was going to kill himself even before he started talking about circles. It was the only way to save the kid, and it made sense for his character progression, going from all about me, to self sacrificing hero.Very well done movie.

My interpretation was there were several loops. Because Bruce Willis killed the mom, the kid became Rainmaker. Since Rainmaker existed, they started sending people back to be killed by loopers. Since they sent people back, young Bruce was a looper who succeeded in killing himself. Since he succeeded when he was young, he stopped himself from being killed by Joseph Gordon Levitt. Thus allowing him to kill the kid's mom. It's like a double loop that was going to continue on indefinitely, but jgl closed it.

That's pretty spot on. The movie was clear about that I thought, and did a marvelous job with the ending. Name, concept, theme, very nicely done.

I have two questions with the movie. If the whole reason they sent people back was because it was hard to get away with murder in the future, then what's up with them killing his wife in the future?

Also, when closing loops, why not just pretend it was a normal target, or send them to another looper? It would be cheaper that way because they would only have to pay silver.

I took it to mean he saw himself in the boy, not that he was the boy himself.

Pretty damn good movie. Even if it wasn't what I was expecting at all.

That explains a lot thanks. I'm surprise at the lack of activity in this thread...this movie is one of the best i ever seen.

The movie was good. But I don't see why people are giving it as high a rating as they are. It was good don't get me wrong, but it was lacking... something. I don't know. It just didn't fulfill all my movie going desires.

I could've waited for it to come out on DVD or something before seeing it. And I probably would then only need to see it once to get it and appreciate it.

To derail onto the movie Dredd -- I saw that the other day on a whim to take up time before work. I had no clue about the premise of Dredd and Judges, etc. Walked in pretty much blind and quite enjoyed it for what it was. Not usually my style but interesting none the less.

Back to topic: Seeing this later, sorry for derail.

It was ok. The ending pretty much ruined it for me personally.

I enjoyed it. GF did not like it due to the "makeup." -.-

    Spoiler: show
Ending was great, had to think about it on the way home but it made sense. Was hoping for some closure and some scenes with the Akira kid in the future. Ah well. Great movie never the less.
