I'm so happy our congressmen and senators don't act this way and are completely deserving of their titles unlike these piece of shit "protectors of the president". It's SO awesome our tax dollars aren't wasted on people who solicit prostitutes and skip out on their duties.

Okay, so the news here is the human trafficking for prostitution and not prostitution.

Is it known whether or not the agents actually had knowledge that these were trafficked prostitutes?

Does it matter? This is news because it makes the US look bad, it makes the Secret Service look incompetent and overall makes the armed services look worse than they've already looked lately. Remember the shoe throwing incident with Bush? Yeah, that was silly.

^ Lock the damn thread. That's the entire point. It wasn't illegal at all, but it makes us, the "World Police" look bad. We already look bad in terms of military might and social backwardness; we didn't need to look like a bunch of prostitute-banging jocks when we're away on official business.

Do that shit when you go on vacation. I'm pretty sure that if I go TDY to Nevada for work, the company doesn't want me hitting up every legal brothel in the area, even if it is legal, and especially if I get caught in some scandal that makes the company look bad.

Not that I disagree, but the point I was making was that politicians do this all the time and yet this isn't brought up as "embarassing" behavior. It feels like this is being specifically brought up because it's Obama's security (or President, to avoid 'both siding') and not because it's illegal.

In that respect, it matters because people far more important than SS agents get away with this type of shit all the time.

Politicians don't get caught, and when they do get caught, they get slammed by "embarrassing" behavior. Anyone in a the national spotlight; anyone who works in a position of authority or public trust is going to get slammed if they get caught fucking whores on an official business trip.
