New York state taxes- Free file programs?

Doing my state taxes right now. I moved out of NY in May to MD so i'm filing for both this year. Maryland lets you just file the shit right on their website, free of charge and easy, but New York apparently doesn't have a similar program?

Anyone know if they do? They have a link to some free HR block filing, but it wants me to do my federal taxes before state...but I already filed my federal through turbotax so I dont want to have to do all that shit all over again.

If it turns out to be too much of a hassle I just wont file with New York, I made under the minimum amount for filing requirements.


Also I guess this would be a good thread for people to post free filing methods for all their states if they want.

This doesn't answer your question, but I use TaxAct every year for free federal, then get real lazy and hit the "send to my state" button and pay the fee. And I live in MD btw, but laziness and not typing in stuff again is worth the fee.

Most free federal programs charge for state. To answer your question just do a paper return on turbo tax and mail it in, tada free. 40c for stamp though.
