that was a bullshit statistic and you know it, that's not bashing that's stating a fact. if anything i was excusing it because it's not relevant. this martyrdom complex you've been working on is not healthy. you're gonna end up like maz.
and no one wants that.
I've been a serving officer in the UK for just over a year now. I don't know the circumstances behind this video, but I know that at times the general public can be uncooperative and an officer can use reasonable and justified force in their line of duty, but the way that officer acted is disgusting and unprofessional. That guy was asking a simple question, rather than swearing at him all he had to do was explain on what grounds he wanted to search the vehicle.
I watched this video laughing to myself, knowing that if I were to treat a member of public like that my professional standards (internal affairs) would see to it that my career would be over haha
Are some officers really that bad in the US?
Some yes, but sadly it's the low percentage sum that make all LEO's look bad. Plus shitty cop news sells.
I can't wait to read about you in the papers! I know it'll take a few years, but my god Renzy, some of that shit you used to pull back in the FFXI days, I can't wait till I get to read about it taking place in RL. Anytime you're in the paper just shoot me a link lol! I am eagerly anticipating the luls that will come from you actually being given authority of this kind.
I <3 you still Potter!
Yep. Another case of "It's within their right" mentality.
Civil Forfeiture is a thing
If they can sell your stuff even before your convicted that's pretty bad.
It wasn't meant to be an accurate or serious stat, and I was speaking on the professionalism most military have when it comes to respecting the service. I was speaking generals, and I do support my stats when I post them if I have to make a valid claim. Sorry, I will remember to put a /s tag on my stuff that shouldn't be taken literally.
You don't just learn how to shoot things in the military. You know that, right? /sarcasm
Edit (Hit enter too soon on my phone):
The basics of ethics and core principals are taken straight out the military handbook for Law Enforcement. The mission is different, but the basics are still there. It's an easy transition. The only thing that hurt was unlearning military and learning police tactics.
11 bang bang here, 8 years, 40% of the army are fucking idiots with hero-worship problems. I would say that probably translates over well for cops too. You seem to have it for sure. You come in here white knighting every idiot with a badge that gets caught acting like an asshole because it wears down the image you like so much that you're all god damned heros. Well, I got news bubba, you ain't. You're a revenue stream at best and a problem at worst.
That's a Lil over the top, cops serve a role some do it well. Other less so but if they fixed the accountability side of being a officer alot less hate would happen.
I mean Fuck I Go to read the news first thing I see is this shit http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6136304
You know the cops are going to get off again. This is why people hate cops no real accountability.
Noted.
Additionally, I'm going to have to ask you to calm down before I Taze you.
First off, I have posted my own examples of bad behavior of police officers, and I did not "white knight" this particular case.
Second, don't take your negative and failure account of your experience with the military and translate it to mine. Likely, you were a god-complex elitist who believed everyone but yourself was the idiot. Got news for you, son. Everyone in the military was an idiot, but we were still good at what we did. So count yourself among the idiots and stop trying to put your own pussy on the pedestal, because I can assure you, you're not a beautiful and unique snowflake of awesomesauce that made it. You chewed the same crap and shit the same turds as the rest of us, and don't have shit to show for it.
Glad you're starting to come around. I actually don't have that big a problem with cops, I have a huge fucking problem with dirty cops because of the trust and power involved. When I see you coming in this thread with your bullshit, it makes me lump you with them. The problem with our country is how our police have always been used. Ask a random citizen in the us how seeing a cop makes them feel, then ask a random UK or German or French or Swede. Seeing the police shouldn't make you feel uneasy or nervous, and it only does because they have been used as a revenue stream to harass normal citizens for so long people just dislike them now.
The fact that our cops have the ability to stop/search people randomly is a big effect on being able to take advantage of that power. I personally don't think that police should be able to search anyone without an amount of probable cause on par with most of Europe.
Yet again, cops prove their immunity;
Drunk bastard gets a vacation
Haha, what can I say.. I've matured a bit since then
You won't be reading about me in any papers! I've been caught in a few pics but besides that I've managed to avoid the media quite well, we rarely ever get portrayed in a good light.
If you hop on vent at some point we can have a story time session!
