The cop that was charged with the murder of Eric Garner (who died due to the illegal chokehold placed on him by a police officer in NYC), was cleared of the case by a Grand Jury.

Open season on negroes, all you need is a special badge.

Still culpable for something. He'll never be a police officer again, that's for sure.
And compression of neck. You said chokehold like it wasn't actually a chokehold. It was a chokehold and it's an illegal manuever in the NYC police force. Just because they try to sidestep that denomination doesn't mean it's not the same fucking thing. So yes, he killed Eric Garner. He's responsible for his death. Your bias to the police is fucking sickening at this point.

Even if its ruled a compression of the chest, you can't deny that it wasn't exacerbated by the entire situation, given the evidence. I bet the grand jury didn't even have a full and clear idea of how complicated his problems were. Case in point, if the takedown never happened, the guy would otherwise be alive.

Either way, a chokehold is a chokehold.

Pretty much this. It's sad to say, but it's well known that grand juries and prosecutors are often in bed with thier respective police departments, leading to a severe lack of indictments regarding police officers, guilty or not.

The prosecutor kept saying that he didn't use a chokehold, he used a headlock. Confuse with language, easy tactic when you want to protect someone.

The Cleveland police officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice had issues with handling guns during his brief tenure with a suburban police department.

A Nov. 29, 2012 letter contained in Tim Loehmann's personnel file from the Independence Police Department says that during firearms qualification training he was "distracted" and "weepy."

"He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal," according to the letter written by Deputy Chief Jim Polak of the Independence police.

The letter recommended that the department part ways with Loehmann, who went on to become a police officer with the Cleveland Division of Police.

"I do not believe time, nor training, will be able to change or correct the deficiencies," Polak said.

Will probably use that to say it was an accident and never go to trial as well.

If the chokehold didn't kill him, then it's not the cause of his death. The ME ruled his death by compression of the chest. Who cares if the maneuver was "illegal"? If it didn't kill him, it's irrelevant. Your ability to get drawn in by headlines and not reading the article is pretty apparent, so do me a favor and don't get mad at me for your lack of comprehension. Also, I did not say that he wasn't culpable, and just giving my opinion. So, good sir, you can kindly leave me the fuck alone.

The only thing exacerbated here in this case was the fact that Eric Garner resisted arrest because he believed he was being harassed. That's all. He did not deserve to die, but he also should have complied and just went with them.

Technicalities: Great for police, fucked for anyone else.

He WAS being harassed. He didn't do anything wrong, and they were still going to arrest him. He put up slight resistance which resulted in his death. This is wanton police abuse, and your denial to see that way, while predictable, is infuriating.

How did his chest get compressed? I bet if Garner would have tapped out, they would have charged him with assault.

Medical Examiners rule the manner of death under one of five categories. Natural, Homicide, Suicide, Accidental, and Unknown. The ME who did Garner's autopsy ruled the death a homicide. The cause of death is just verbiage used by the ME to specify what killed the individual from a medical standpoint, not the means in which the individual was killed. For example, victim gets shot in the chest than the cause of death would be perforated heart/lung/etc. or whatever along those lines. They would never list the cause of death as "the dude was shot."

This man was killed by the police where they were the aggressor.

They played the "it's not the fall that kills you" defense, disappointingly it was super-effective to the jury.

I kind of want a cop to push someone off a building so they can say the cause of death was fatal deceleration. That's pretty much the point we're at now.

Dead niggas all over the country, and people are screaming IT ISNT RACIAL, WHITE PEOPLE ARE MISTREATED TOO. get the fuck out of here. Let black cops start doing this shit to whites everywhere, and see how quick those boys end up behind bars. You wanna know why blax don't trust cops? Because this shit has been going on FOREVER. I can probably safely assume that at least 50% of blax here on bg, a bunch of vidya nerds, have gone out somewhere to grab food, or visit someone, and have been pulled over and harassed for doing absolutely nothing. BUT IT'S NOT A BLACK THING. kindly take that nightstick and go fuck yourself.
