CLEVELAND -- 12-year-old Tamir Rice died from a gunshot wound to the torso with "injuries of major vessel, intestines and pelvis."

His autopsy report was released shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.

The report states the gunshot wound entered the left side of the abdomen.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office lists his death as a homicide.

Why do people keep trotting out that "ruled a homicide" canard? It's not a guilt judgment, it means it was an unnatural death caused by another person. What did you think he died from?

I'm talking specifically about the last line there. In almost all of these cases, the "ruled a homicide" line gets into headlines like it means something more than it does.

Asked repeatedly whether Crawford owned a gun, Thomas responds, "Not that I know."

"Don't tell me 'not that you know', because that's the first thing I realize somebody's not telling me the truth," the detective slams back.

As the interrogation progresses Curd can be seen becoming increasingly aggressive, raising his voice and banging his hand on the table. At some point, the detective asks Thomas whether she has been drinking or taking drugs, to which she responds she has only been taking her prescription medicines.

Only at the end of the interrogation does Curd inform Thomas that her boyfriend had died.

"As a result of his actions, he is gone," he said.

In Ohio, a traditional open-carry state, Crawford would have been free to walk around Walmart with a real rifle.
