2 New York cops shot dead in ‘execution style’ ambush

The shooting took place in Brooklyn outside of the Tompkins Houses at around 3pm. The shooter reportedly came out of the building before shooting the officers patrolling the area. According to the witnesses he then ran away into the subway where he was either shot by police chasing him or died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The number of 'likes' on that dudes photos were enough for me. Ignorance is easily found online and the fact that I have to read tweets denouncing this mad man's doing in order to draw a line between protests and this fool's idea of "revenge" makes it even more infuriating.

edit: Also, he murdered his girlfriend before his plot to kill the two cops.

I could screen grab the number of tweets from the other side too. The hate is real, but to be honest this is what is always said (before Twitter was even around) when a police officer is killed on duty for no reason. We just get to see it now in live Twitter form. Just looking at all of the likes alone sickens me.

It's disheartening that we can't go even 12 hours without this being politicized. It's like we learned nothing from Gabbie Giffords, Sandy Hook, and every other senseless tragedy that was supposed to show that the discourse could be elevated for at least a few days while people mourned.

They're not wrong. DeBlasio inticed some of this violence with his speeches. On December 11th, when the protesters were marching in NY shouting "what do we want, dead cops, when do we want it, now!!!", he defended the protesters.

Uh... Yeah. That's not a peaceful message and should have been stopped. He threw some of the officers under the bus immediately without any sort of facts in some cases. Fuck that guy.
