They didn't get arrested. When he started his speech with "I tell my son to be careful around the police", he lost his credibility. You can't actively support a system with that mentality and empathize as the same time. You know what you do? You remain neutral. Stop trying to horde the votes and stoke the public opinion. As a mayor, you say the usual " We're investigating" and keep your mouth shut.

Unbelievably ignorant and reckless to support the idea that DeBlasio or protestors support violence against cops.

Supporting the status quo (staying neutral) supports the idea that cops can murder suspects on video with impunity.

Why would you expect him to do that?

Does the word "Neutral" not mean the same thing to you as is does in english?

I'm only curious because no where in the definition of neutral do i see "Supporting one side". Being neutral means by definition not supporting anything. Wait... who am I kidding, we're in an era of "If you're not with me you're against me'. My argument fails before it begins.

Neutral, in this case, means not recognizing obvious injustice.

Are we on the same page there?

There's injustices that happen every day that are overlooked and downright ignored, and last I checked, the world is still a fucked up place regardless of who perpetuates what. It's just easier to blame the police, because they're an easy target.

Police officers get murdered, no police officer in the country jumps on social media calling for the death of activists or protesters.

Police officers get murdered, activists and nutjobs across the country (75,000 and counting if you go to Twitter) with the hash tags #youcantbreathenow and #pigsinablanket.

    Yeah, nothing to worry about.

So essentially you're going for the handwave here. Nothing to see folks, its all apart of the system we live in.

I'm sure you wouldn't be singing that tune if you were the target of overzealous cops. One guy killed two police officers and suddenly I'm supposed to be responsible for every shit dribble on the Internet? Yeah, how about no. Killing innocent cops is wrong but so is letting injustice exist because *throws arms up* that's how the world works. When people perceive the system isn't working to their benefit - as many minorities feel - some will take to peaceful protest and others will resort to violence here. Kindly take note to notice the difference between the two.

I mean you readily use the word nutjob and then claim DeBlasio incited police deaths? Cmon.

Yeah, I get you're upset about awful Twitter hashtags but shall I wheel out the "I swear I'm not racist bro" hashtags about how great the police are for killing minorities? It's a shitshow on both sides.

    Oh boy.

Talk about us vs them mentality.

There's crazy people out there and you get paid pretty good to do what you do and take the risk you take. Not enough for me but thats why I'm not a cop. I'm sorry you were promised a rose garden at the Academy. No one deserves to be a victim of a homicide. Not cops and not unarmed men resisting arrest.

Wrong. I personally know 2 police officers who have called for the death of all the protestors on facebook. I was almost shocked to see them say that then proceed to circlejerk about how all cops should band together and put down the public then rule them like a military occupation because people are too dumb to rule themselves. The irony, of course is in the shear stupidity of their posts. The only reason I was not completely shocked is because I know where they grew up and they have engaged in "nuke them all" bullshit in the past. They are also incredibly racist. I used to keep them around for the laughs, but after this one I feel like I am going to see their names in the news. I deleted them both this morning.

So, don't tell me cops are not calling for the death of protesters. There are cops out there that want exactly that. If I know 2 right here in my home town, how many more are out there?

Edit: Directed at Neph. You guys all posted while I was typing...

This just in: protestors who are protesting deaths of innocents are now indirectly responsible for the deaths of innocents. #logic

Clearly, the protesters should have stayed home and this would have never happened. I mean, crazy fucking people looking to murder cops doesn't exist unless there's an atmosphere of peaceful protest, a cornerstone of democratic rule in which police participate in upholding.

The best part of all this is the sudden indignation and outrage that a cop or three got killed, but when it happens to "subjects" it's business as usual, good shoot, way to go bro.

To be clear, cops getting shot is no more or less repugnant than civilians getting shot, choked to death, etc.

I know of a few racist cops as well. Only they're to much of a coward to put their real names on the Facebook/twitter page they're behind. We all know who they are particularly because I went to school with their family.

  17. #2777
You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

So, as a teacher, when I tell my kids to follow w/e bs stuff teachers teach them when teaching to the test do I lose all credibility, too?

In my case, I love teaching, I hate a lot of the bullshit that gov't has imposed on the public school system. I still support many other aspects of the public school system, and yet I empathize the shit both teachers and students have to go through.

In other words, your ideas are full of shit.

This is my case too. I went to school in a small town where everybody knows everybody. Both of the people on my facebook had all their info hidden and had ridiculous names like "juliejazzyblahblah" I know who they are through family and friends from that small town.

On a related side note, both of the people I know served 8 years in the army. They weren't anywhere near as angry and outspoken advocating violence until they got back from the sandbox.

So let's be clear so that I'm understanding the logic all of you have perpetuated:

A few instances of the police abusing power or "murdering unarmed civilians", and the profession is fucked.

A few activists going out of their way to openly express the deaths of police officers, mostly who have nothing to do with any of the crap you speak of, and it's "isolated incidents" and "have nothing to do with the real movement", etc.

    Talk about the hipocracy.

@Ace - if you didn't report them, then you're no better than an armchair keyboard warrior like the rest.

The circlejerk isn't perpetuated just by the police. Everything, including the actions that are so called " indigent" and "egregious" by the police have all been reactive to someone's stupid or egregious behavior.

Attacking a police officer when he pulled over to tell you to get out of the road after committing strong-arm robbery and trying to point his gun at him.

Resisting arrest after you've been told multiple times to not sell loose cigarette's (a law that was enacted by mayor DeBlasio) and have been jailed multiple times for said offense.

Pointing a realistic looking airsoft rifle at people minding their own business in a store who've done nothing to you.

Pulling out a realistic looking airsoft handgun from your waistband when the police roll on you.

Rioting and burning your city in response to a shooting you had no facts or clear picture as to what transpired, except accounts by supposed witnesses who did nothing but perpetuate further violence, and leaders of the so called "movement" who preached peace from the beginning, and had the ardacity to say "Burn this bitch down!" The moment things didn't turn out your way, and claim you were caught in the moment?

And yet, the so called "agitator police", who are guilty merely of showing solidarity for their fellow police officers because the threats against them are very real and very open threats to their lives and families, show a bit of anger and disdain for those they have to protect, are even worse than those who would cause them harm simply because of circumstance, and they're the bad guys? Always. No mention of personal responsibility from anyone who've started any of these things, yet the police must show humility in the face of adversity?

Great day to be a "well paid" police officer (news flash, the pay sucks hombre).
