Sometimes intimidation is the best defense (along with location for the US's sake).

I've only choked a dude once in my life, but it is hilarious seeing the look on their face and that little fish lips attempt to speak when no air comes out thing.

Just not sure how we got here from "there are good cops and bad cops, just like there are good soldiers and bad soldiers."

I volunteered in Prince George's County, Maryland which just so happens to be one of the most crime-ridden shit holes in the entire state. Had a lot of fun treating gunshot victims (not really) and fighting fires (even worse). I think eventually I just decided my day job was far less dangerous than some of the stuff I got in to as a volunteer.

The Dirty Dozen of DC Police fame was one of the most notorious cases of corruption in the DC Police Department and it's story was never fully published until one of the old background investigators that did 5 of the 12 backgrounds for the group red flagged their background checks decided to tell the story to NBC. The chief at the time hired them anyways and they ended up pushing well over $100million in drugs and guns along the East Coast and as far South as Miami. Good things and bad things happen all the time in the police world. You just either gotta be extremely lucky with the camera or have an informant.

The thin blue line that symbolizes the police is also known as the "Thin Blue Line of Silence". Stuff happens, people see it, it gets buried, and never comes out again. Thanks to modern day forensics, you might be able to catch glimpses of police corruption being exposed all over the country if you catch it before it gets buried in politics (such as the Hurricane Katrina murders which got buried in politics before someone spoke out on the officers killing people). No other organization in the world is more closely tied to politics than Law Enforcement. Sad reality but it's true. Just gotta pray that I don't cross the wrong person some day and get murdered or do what i've always done and train myself to be better than everyone else. That way when I piss off the wrong people, they go before I do.

Also someone had mentioned something about the military and whatnot. I started my career in the military when I graduated from High School. I went in for college and ended up going career in the military before I was able to opt for a less intrusive role as a reservist. After boot, I took the entrance exam for the Rangers and passed, going active in the Special Forces before dusting myself off after 3 tours and re-organizing my contract once it expired to do less strenuous stuff like payload and ordinance. I still can be activated when the time comes but I decided a career and family were more important, so here I am.

However, like most people out there, I chose the military because there was no way I was going to college without it. I didn't have any money (i'm a state-owned child), I didn't get exceptional grades in school, and I didn't know what career I wanted to do. It was either go to the military or smoke weed all day with my friends and never do anything but flip burgers. That's my take on it. There's some kind of trolling and arguing going on here but everyone has their reasons for doing something. Not gonna fault anyone for not wanting to do it. It sucks, it takes your life away, you may not believe in the military, the pay is bad, and you can very well get shot/blown up/captured/tortured/decapitated/etc. Can't blame anyone who doesn't wanna join the military.

Don't need to hype it up. I just tell it how it is. I'll be the first to admit (if you seen any of my other posts on other topics) that i'm a pig headed, stubborn asshole who hates people who trash talk cops and military vets. I've also learned that everyone is entitled to their opinion (getting in to debates with hey has taught me that) and getting trolled to no end just forces you in to circles and gets emotions high. My personal views and responses don't come with a censor or an ulterior motive. I just like people to understand where I come from.

Granted there are some people who just won't understand, will always question every little sentence, and will twist any logic regardless of it's intention. I have even started to call people in real life "trolls" who try to pull this routine. I served a trespass order to a guy I busted for dealing a couple weeks ago. His girlfriend was a "lawyer" and questioned every line of the trespass order. Right up to where it said in plain black and white "If you return to the listed property and are caught, you may be subject to arrest." and when she saw the word "may", it started a huge 30 minute conversation of what "could" happen. Finally I just looked at her and said "Are you trolling me?" which she responded "You saying i'm ugly?!" Bitch needs to read BG more.

For what it's worth, you seem like a really cool guy. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about most cops/soldiers.

Not sure how to translate the first line. Do I troll? I try not to. Sorry.

Third and 2001 was the first. I should have amended when i said after boot but i meant after AIT, i struggled with carrer options and thought MP was the dream. However, i was also a 11b, 12b, 19d, then after OCS a 31a after 31b and rangers. Hell of a ride.

Ah, I can think of a few from 3rd in '01 but meh, they'd flip if they found their names online anyway since they're all crusty fucks.

iirc there's another poster here that was also in 3rd awhile back too.

I probably ate a lot of the same dirt as they did. I really didnt see a whole lot of fighting. I mostly ran intelligence and infiltration ops. There was the occasional foxtrot sierra... but we took care of them quick and easy. What did you do?

Also the CIC report is up for this case. When i get to a regular terminal ill post the link.

Gotcha. I meant to post the CIC link here for people to view but the stats aren't populated for 2012 yet (despite the listing on the website). I'll try to do more digging around. The search does a general break-down listing by zip-code as well but I can't seem to find it anywhere where the offense occurred (sensitive info so if anyone finds it you can PM me the zip).

Mailmen have better training and proven success at handling aggressive dogs in an effective and non-violent manner. Give mailmen the badges and guns and start giving these shitty cops actual work to do.

Contrast that to the U.S. Postal Service, another government organization whose employees regularly come into contact with pets. A Postal Service spokesman said in a 2009 interview that serious dog attacks on mail carriers are extremely rare. That's likely because postal workers are annually shown a two-hour video and given further training on "how to distract dogs with toys, subdue them with voice commands, or, at worst, incapacitate them with Mace."
