The Baltimore County 911 employee whose comments on police brutality were criticized by the county police union has resigned from her job.

Last month, comments Murray made on Facebook surfaced amid nationwide debate over police conduct. Murray said, in part, that she would rather her son encounter "a so-called thug" than an officer, as she feared for her son's safety interacting with police because he is black. The Baltimore County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 4 condemned the remarks and said Murray should not be allowed to continue in her position.

I've never seen a mug-shot book, but I'm guessing they are sorted by race to streamline the identification process. So it makes sense that all 6 faces are the same race. You would have a point if they had found 100 shot up sheets, and every single one of them was black. Or they would find pages with black men, white men, asian men, etc. Alas, we will never know.

Just gonna copy and paste from my facebook from when I talked about this exact dispatcher.

As a dispatcher your officers need to be able to trust you with their lives, a dispatcher is the lifeline for units in the street. If you don't trust your officers, and your officers do not trust you then only bad things can occur from that.

While it is her opinion, and everyone has a amendment right to freedom of speech its still highly inappropriate to be sending that message, shitting on the units you are hired to support and protect on a daily basis.

She could be a fantastic dispatcher, possibly one of the best for all we know. However that does her no good if the trust just isn't there.

Video shows man shot by New Jersey police raising his hands

I was reading about this yesterday where they posted the transcript and all i could think was, "Wow open and shut case right there." The way it was written made it seem like the guy that was shot was the in the drivers side (Because they said he had his hands up and they had a closeup on the driver who had his hands out the window). Watching the video, shows another story. No matter what he is saying, the passenger is being very shady with how he was handling it.

The driver is reaching his hands out the window, showing the cop next to him he isn't doing shit, and waiting for orders. Nothing happened to him, he wasn't shot, he was being passive with every move.

The other guy...

1: How are you not going to tell a cop you have a gun in the car (#1 thing i do, Officer I have a registered firearm in my glovebox.)
2: He keeps saying he isn't doing anything,but unlike his driving friend isn't putting his hands outside the car (This can go both way, if the officer wanted to make sure he wouldn't reach he should of told him to put his hands outside. The second the cop said "Show me your hands" the driver hands were out the window)
3: He stated "I'm getting out of the car, and on the ground" The officer responded "No you're not" (In this case, the officer said don't do something.... and he fucking did it. Not only did it, but not in a passive manner. Got out of the car quickly. I don't know about most people, but if a cop is freaking out... yelling... with a gun pointed at me..... i move fucking SLOW.)

So far i've been on the liberal train with all these shootings. In almost all cases, IMO, there was no reason for someone to die. This, to me, looks like a training video they would show people on what not to do in a traffic stop (Don't tell cop about hidden gun, and when the cop tells you no, do it anyway)

Edit: I will say it would be nice if cops would start capping people in the leg or something instead of trying to always kill.... but in this case (Knowing the guy has shot at a cop before) i can understand why the cop wasn't taking any chances.

Only commenting on your edit. Police are never trained to shoot to wound. They are trained to hit center mass. The second you try to aim for limbs is when you miss and potentially get shot/killed yourself.

Only commenting on your edit. Police are never trained to shoot to wound. They are trained to hit center mass. The second you try to aim for limbs is when you miss and potentially get shot/killed yourself.

I understand that there would be risks in doing this. I didn't mean the police officer in this case should of done that (As he knew the guys record, knew he had a gun close, and the guy was moving fast to him). It just seems like there is no middle ground anymore. I'm sure i need some education on this, but why did he have to go right to his gun? They don't have taser guns with them at all times? A taser would put him down just as fast as that gun did, and it wouldn't kill him. I know hindsight is 20/20, but this is starting to get out of control. And this shit is happening while cops know they are underfire.

If I don't trust a fellow officer with my life, I'm not going to work with said officer.

Same for the dispatcher, if she doesn't trust me and I dont trust her then its just not going to work out. If my life is on the line and I am screaming for help over the radio, I want someone I can trust that will send me the required assistance.
