We could probably get away with making the Baltimore event it's own topic.
Id say so. Just split the last page and a half off.
Yeah, there's no way this is going to die down anytime soon, as long as Freddie Gray's injustice is ignored by police.
wbal has a great photo gallery of what has taken place so far, and sadly, so does CNN.
I wish I had more info, but I've read a few reports of the lead-up to the violence, how officials blocked off subways and such, more officers fighting with the highschoolers, etc.
@annwimsatt
@akacharleswade Baltimore officials shut the subway and buses as school let out. Trapped the kids. Parents must be frantic with fear.
Police are mostly helpless now that numbers have swelled. Governor has called for the Natl. Guard already.
CNN has a photo of a group of teens that had a bucket full of rocks to chuck at police.
CNN just caught a guy cutting the fire hose they were using to try and put out one of the building fires.
In the blur of commentary around what's happening on the ground, I've seen folks label rioters as terrorists, enemy combatants, all that great military language. I've also seen the more conspiracy-laced comments of how the police planned to provoke riots from the previously mentioned entrapment situation.
I, for one, chalk it up to plain old incompetence by the entire city, starting with the police. They are obviously unconcerned with the demands for action against the six police who allowed Freddie Gray to die. They are obviously operating on autopilot in the streets and behind the desk, allowing their officers to throw-down with highschool kids across the street from their school, with no way to for them go home.

i will make a bodymore thread and move relevant posts into it okay one sec
How can you possibly say this is still for Freddy Grey. This is nothing but animals now. I live in Baltimore, all this shit is happening 4 miles north of me. Did that Ace check cashing place and countless Liqueur, cvs/cell phone/beauty supply stores hell now even the mall, do anything to support the 6 police? I call these things animals, the blacks and whites.
I'm really surprised no one has been shot from all this looting yet "from the behind the counter clerks".
pls take it to this thread you guyz http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/125...-save-you-quot
Detroit "20 year old suspect (unarmed Black man) fatally shot (ten times) by fugitive task force officer (murderer)" http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/story/28...-force-officer
A hammer, though?
I sure am glad I am white...I walked toward an officer with an axe and he didn't even draw his gun.
Look at these racist bumblefucks http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...lice/26843733/
It very well could be racially motivated sure. I think what's more telling is how the police automatically treat someone who's using a purely defensive tool as someone who might do evil. At least when soccer moms get upset about people carrying you can at least claim "they might kill someone". The only argument you have against being afraid of someone wearing a bullet proof vest is "they might not die when shot with a gun". That's completely ridiculous, regardless of race.
Historically, the stance has been because of Ned Kelly, and also the North Hollywood shootout.
tbf though, in both those cases, the culprits were white people.
