Been following this for awhile.
But umm, what the hell are marshalls? I originally assumed US Marshalls, but that appears to be not even close. (We don't have these types of "marshalls" up here)

They call their counties "parishes" down there, might just be a colloquialism for sherrif.
We have sheriffs here in LA but archie is right about parishes. Tbh I've never heard of a marshall but I definitely have seen sheriffs from different parishes.
There is a lot of Louisiana that is not near civilization. Things may be different there.
Moved from violence thread, my post:
Anyone else dreading the release of this body cam footage from the shooting of the 6 year old kid in LA? They arrested the cops within 24 hours, the dad had no priors, they chased him down a dead-end road, the dad had no firearm, the kid was belted into the passenger seat. The police chief that viewed the footage called it "the most disturbing footage" he's ever seen and he's been a cop for 35 years.
This is gonna be some snuff film level shit.

The whole shift gets in on the beating from the looks of it. I am pretty sure the wrong guy got the beating too, and he seems to not be resisting when he gets the taser and ass whipping. I am hoping someone was wearing their body cam. The guy at the end of the video is a PR nightmare, suffering from his manlet syndrome.

Yeah context or not, the dude trying to close the door is a fucking idiot, but there was no discernible risk to any officer from either of the viewpoints.
If at least a few of those cops don't get brought up on charges I will be...upset but not surprised.

I just love the cop who looks like he is 3 years out of high school max and a foot shorter than everyone else walking around yelling "SHUT THE FUCK UP" repeatedly.
TheOnion always nailing it.
"Go upstairs now. Or you'll be arrested too."
You can't be in the space of your own house? lol
Not in Nazi occupied Tuscaloosa, I guess. First officer is going to get nailed, but not as bad as his buddies with the taser and flashlight. Which I imagine they'll be pretty pissed to see they're going to get shit for a noise complaint. Doesn't excuse the beating, but they were probably under the impression he was in actual danger. I am pretty sure I have encountered the original officer before I just can't place it. Saw the shift sergeant on the vid too, same one they used the body cam footage for the death investigation over the summer. Little Napoleon needs a couple days without pay to think about how to interact with people, for his own safety.
Why does a noise complaint get 10+ officers anyway?
Probably a black neighborhood.
Or mexican.
Oh that actually makes more sense if it was right after the bama / LSU game
I just can't get over that the wrong guy got fucked up. He is going to be very angry at the friend that actually breathed forcefully at the officer.
If it is a rich white kid neighborhood then at least we can be sure he'll live to see the cops punished for it.
Because they don't understand the concept of appropriate force.
To give you an even more ridiculous example one day we got a call from jail from my coworker saying he wouldn't be making it in that day. Turns out that morning when he was getting ready for work and after his shower he walked to his bedroom naked and some busybody walking by apparently saw him on the 2nd floor and called in a complaint. A few minutes later 4 cop cars pull up to his house with 8 cops just to deal with the guy being naked in his own house <.<. Then they started grilling him with the stupidest questions ever. Sir why were you naked? Oh taking a shower are you usually naked after taking a shower? And apparently that was enough to warrant an arrest
