So the San Francisco Board of Supervisors have chosen a day of remembrance for Mario Woods. Mario Woods was killed by SFPD after failing to put down a knife and was wanted as a suspect in a stabbing that happened shortly before the shooting.

Yeah that guy literally asked for it. And non lethal methods were in fact tired several times first and still refused to surrender or put down the knife. Gun was in and out jail too so it's not exactly some random good upstanding citizen minding his own business

Nevermind The UK is able to handle a very similar situation but that requires training (Read: Money) and paying police a half decent wage that most cities aren't willing to afford.

When the police don't have the tools to de-escalate the situation they'll default to going home. And I'll agree with Melena on their choice to go home that day.
