Fear for your life is irrational. Fear of being bitten is rational. Fear of being bitten does not justify deadly force. I deal with animals every day in my line of work. Even the aggressive ones have never made me fear for my life. I have also never once thought of capping a dog because it was wagging it's tail. These guys are supposedly trained to recognize posture, body language, subtleties, and behavior in human suspects, but this guy could not size up an animal in a half second? Bullshit. The dog did nothing wrong. The owner can look at this in retrospect and see things they could have done differently, but they are not at fault either.

Haha, they're sub consciously trying to say something I think. Not a single person has said this is not the cops fault, because it is, but that doesn't change the fact that responsible pet ownership could have saved this dog's life.

I may very well find myself in this exact same situation one day, but you know what the difference will be? My dog will still be alive because he's trained to not run out the door with out my instruction. That's responsible pet ownership, and it will keep me out of court and my dog alive.

This is no different than spay/neutering your pet. Your pet got knocked up? Your fault. You send the puppies to a shelter and they're put down? That's your fault too.

Part of the responsibility of owning a dog is disciplining them and keeping them under control (actually that's most of it really) and the importance of this increases rapidly with the size of the dog.

That doesn't mean what the cop did was ok, at all, but that doesn't mean being a shitty dog owner is ok either.

Yes she is at fault. She had a chance to restrain the dog when it was trapped in the door, and instead of reaching to grab its collar so it wouldnt run out, she instead opens the door further and lets him out. So now there is a free roaming pitbull out in the hallway, and youre saying its NOT the owners fault the dog is there?

Why was he infracted for this? Honest question. Every single person that has said she's a horrible dog owner has still made it every clear that the cop sucks and is at fault for shooting.

You are. That's not to say this matters for most people though, if you have land and are ok with your dog running out then you do you bro, but that doesn't change the fact that you put your animal in a dangerous situation should a time come when it's dangerous for your dog to be running outside with out control. I'm not saying this woman is as bad lady, I'm just saying her lack of discipline in training her dog cost the dog it's life.

Um...

Yuri says we're blaming her and not the cop, Nynja responds and says "who is doing this?". How is that baiting or trolling, let alone ban worthy? Not a single person was doing what Yuri said, after its been repeated many times that we do blame the cop AND the owner. If anything, Yuri should be banned for trolling after we explained our position quite clearly and still she (he?) made the same remarks with the same strawmen.

Reread the infracted comment and the four posts before that. How is any of that ban worthy? I'd give mods the benefit of the doubt, but when the main mod says "lol look again", I'm left with nothing to assume but they're just out to get Nynja because reasons.
