I drive pretty much everywhere at 85-90, which is okay in the south, but in MA we have 4 lane highways that are locked at 55 because the north isn't free.

If the construction crew isnt actually there (99.9% of the time on highways) I don't slow down. I do for school zones though but I generally avoid those.

I've been pulled over a couple times for speeding (>10 mph over), and once for having expired registration. That one they required me to show proof of registration within a week (which was easily done), or else it would've been a ticket as well. Granted, that was the only time I noticed the cop with a hand on her gun. Standard procedure, I'm sure, but still irritating and a needless escalation of the situation.

Haven't been pulled over once, however I had a cop pull a gun at me for trying to ticket me for not wearing a seat belt in a parked(and off) car, I guess California cops don't like being told to fuck off :/

Fun story off that though, my brother was really good friends with the old SF DA who pulled some strings and got the cop put on desk duty. Feels good man

And people actually move out of the way if they're in the left lane and they see you coming up on them. It's considered one of the biggest dick moves to ride in the left lane if you're not passing anyone and you're going slower than other traffic.

I'd trust a speed limitless America about as much as I would an AI driven car at the moment. Of late, I'm wondering if some people around here know what yield signs mean, as the trend seems to be to speed the fuck up and cause oncoming traffic to slam the brakes.

I have 36 speeding tickets, Idk how many total times I've been pulled or how many total violations. Actually had a 38 in a 35 written while I got a verbal warning for 102 in a 55.

Had the k-9 unit called twice because I wouldn't consent to a search. Yoinked from the car and cuffed twice (all charges dropped and actually got an apology for one). About a dozen times had 3+ police/troopers show up for back up.

Now, the fact that I used to street race may or may not have something to do with it. I can't imagine how many of these scenarios would have turned out of I was black. I have a very mixed ancestry and get extremely dark in the summer, so I've had several cops start by asking if I spoke English. Always been tempted to just give them a blank stare to see what happens, but I don't want to die.

That's kind of what I'm leaning towards as well. Unless they drive by you, pull a U-turn, and start hauling ass after you, it's incredibly unlikely they know what you look like by the time they've decided to pull you over. Maybe if you're driving a car that looks like it was on Pimp My Ride they could make an educated guess, but otherwise, after that many stops the problem is probably you.

Yeah, that's probably why he gets a ticket 4% of the time - because he's constantly pulled over with cause but then they let him go.

Yeah, I'm going to disagree, being pulled over that many times and 1 ticket is BS. Unless most of them were at night, then I'll give you that but the low ass ticket rate to pull over rate is BS.

Depending on the offense you don't always get a ticket.

I've been pulled over about 5 times or so in my life myself. Gun drawn once. Back then I was just another lil shit but these days I'd make sure I wouldn't do a fucking thing to piss these dudes off. Always "Yes officer" off the top to any question; any time dudes pull me over I'm already putting my hands on the wheel so they can see and all that.

Shit sucks, but you have to realize your place as a black man sometimes. Like realize there is a genuine fear these cops have for large & tall black men and act accordingly to save your own life.

Shit, I've been pulled over twice in my lifetime, once for speeding (I was) and once for making an illegal U-turn (I did). Only got the ticket for speeding and a warning for the U-Turn. This is a great example of white privilege. I'm starting to understand why black people invest in tinted windows more than whites do.

I've never gotten off with a warning I've probably had like 5 or 6 moving violations (3-4 speeding, 1 stop sign, 1 illegal u-turn). My not-french name in french-quebec doesnt get me any priviledge. In my 3 yrs in Calgary, I've never had a run-in with any cops.
