That's kind of what I'm leaning towards as well. Unless they drive by you, pull a U-turn, and start hauling ass after you, it's incredibly unlikely they know what you look like by the time they've decided to pull you over. Maybe if you're driving a car that looks like it was on Pimp My Ride they could make an educated guess, but otherwise, after that many stops the problem is probably you.

I'm a very good driver. Never been in an accident nor caused one. 1 speeding ticket for going 11 miles over the posted speed limit. Never had a parking ticket. 40 pullovers is pretty high, but I've had a license for 17 years now, so that evens out to about 2-3 pullovers a year. I'm not getting pulled over every month. After 9/11 I got pulled over a good 10-12 times in a few months, so that accounts for a good chunk. At the time I was driving a beat up old white Civic and I had a bushy black beard. I might as well have just painted pull me over on the side of my car. That was right at the start of my freshman year of college. Good times. Now, I live in a small redneck town in the middle of Oregon, which is a shockingly white state despite being quite liberal on the western half. The vast majority of my pull overs are definitely racially influenced. For me to believe they're not then I also have to believe that every time I flew between 2002 and 2005 I was actually "randomly" selected for searches.

i dunno man, i've had my license for 17 years as well, and as i mentioned i've only been pulled over 3 times, all for that stupid taillight playing red light/green light on me. only other times i've been stopped were for random drunk driver checkpoints where they stopped everyone, and had no trouble. (orange county has a loooot of cops and not much to do.)

for the record, im half mexican half whateverthefuckmydadisithinkit'scaucasian. I tend to get mistaken for every race on every continent except africa and antarctica though. i've been asked if i was everything from native american to asian to middle eastern, from brazilian to persian, even an australian once. (i have no clue how they mistook me for that.) I'm not sure if i suffer from racial profiling or not though, partly because i'm very bad at reading social cues and partly because i don't encounter others very much. It might be i simply confuse people too much with my looks that they don't know how to stereotype me, seeing as how i have had people randomly ask me what race i am, as if it somehow is important. <_<;

The difference here is location. It sounds like you've spent the majority of your life in SoCal, which is as mixed race as they come. In fact, California as a whole is less than 45% white and if you just included SoCal, that number would be even lower. I've spent the majority of my life in Oregon, which is 87% white, and 40% of the state is staunchly conservative. Yes, that number is actually correct, Oregon is 87% white. When I was growing up, the Census in the early 90s had Oregon over 93% white. Oregon outside of Portland is a very different state and I don't think a lot of people realize that.

I'm @11 years driving and been pulled over 4 times. Once for making a wide RIGHT turn at a green light (cop was fishing for DUI's), once for going 10 over in a construction zone, another time for my license plate light being out and a final time for my left rear light being out.

Got the DUI and the ticket for speeding. Every other time was a pass. Now I only go 10 over (not in construction zones) and obviously I never drink and drive. If you ever come to AZ I would strongly encourage you to be the rules of the roads bitch cuz you'll get pulled over for any tiny thing.

My friend was pulled over cuz the cop couldn't see what state his license plate was from because of the frame he was using. I guess that's illegal in AZ

Cops have to be able to read your license plate and look your car up on their onboard computer without stopping you so yeah it'd be hard to do that without knowing what state the plate is from.

9 stops, 0 tickets or violations. Probably close to a couple dozen "random" searches at airports, including 3 separate times I was detained and had all my luggage disassembled at the checkpoint because my carry-on "tested positive for explosives" before a supervisor ran over 5-10 minutes later and apologized before leaving me to re-pack all my things in front of a line full of people and run to my gate.

But it's cool white people get pulled over too idk what I'm complaining about.

Can confirm. My four years of high school we had literally one black guy out of a student body of 400. He managed to fit in a little too well with the rednecks and ended up pretty much like that KKK skit on the Chappelle show. Even now in Josephine county it's very solidly 90%+ white and conservative and the joke is "Why do the blacks avoid Grants Pass? It's the climate!" (town slogan). Ha. ha. Ha.

My town is predominantly white and every single police officer is white (with 2 tan guys that definitely don't qualify as black but may be). They pull over every one, this town writes the fuck out of tickets and arrest a ton of people, all white. Really nice area on the shore, beachy/boaty town, not upscale but almost. HUGE heroin problem. Especially in the places you wouldn't expect. So everyone is looked at suspect.

Here I don't notice blacks or other non whites getting stopped more because there is so many whites pulled over and doing drugs. However, cops are always called for suspicious conditions in a neighborhood and it's always always always a black guy walking down the street. Always. It never fails, suspicious person in neighborhood blah blah description is always black. People are absolutely frightened when they see a black guy on their white street even if it's not necessarily a nice neighborhood.

I'd trust a speed limitless America about as much as I would an AI driven car at the moment. Of late, I'm wondering if some people around here know what yield signs mean, as the trend seems to be to speed the fuck up and cause oncoming traffic to slam the brakes.

I have to deal with people blowing through yield signs every day after work. I usually have time to hit my breaks or lay on my horn to get them to stop. Only once did I have to swerve into the other lane to avoid being hit, no one in the other lane thankfully. The kicker? This is in a parking lot. The fuck do people need to be going 40-50+ in a parking lot blowing through yield signs? I screamed at that asshole so bad he didn't say a fucking word, just put his head down and took off.

Protest actually blocked off both directions and ended a few hours ago with tear gas and arrests.

50 Arrested

I never understood the point of blocking a highway as a form of protest. Protests are supposed to bring light to an issue, not immediately turn everyone against your movement by pissing everyone off.

They're also kinda making a point of why cops need to armor up when dealing with "peaceful protesters" when one of them got a broken back from a god damn cinder block.

I drive pretty much everywhere at 85-90, which is okay in the south, but in MA we have 4 lane highways that are locked at 55 because the north isn't free.

South speeding limits are dope.
