I don't know how to reply to those who were talking to me in this thread, this thing went everywhere, lol.

Neither of these avenues is helped by taking an adversarial stance with the people around you. It doesn't matter how much outside attention and support you receive if the people you need voting in your local elections are the ones you just made an hour late for work.

I believe you were looking for a reply to me, I think, but others sort of addressed the points I was going to make. So all I'm going to add is:

The protest itself is itself adversarial (even peaceful, non-confrontational ones), as it is a challenge to the status quo. Therefore, participation in said protest makes all participants adversaries to those who don't partake in it.

If you find yourself wanting to vote for something because you think it's right, but find those participants too antagonistic to a point where you are swayed otherwise (an hour late to work), is it they who are the problem?

Great one-liner. Good luck translating it into anything remotely resembling meaningful progress, though.

Here's the reality. Your alternative local candidate won't even put him/herself on the ballot if there isn't sufficient initial support both financially and popularly. Local protest movements are almost never sufficient to fund these candidates by themselves, and even with outside funding their votes aren't sufficient to challenge status quo on their own either (because, news flash, the vast majority of Americans don't even vote in local elections or have any clue who's running in them so their feelings of right or wrong are irrelevant until you get them to the polls).

If your DA/PC are totally unsalvageable and you absolutely need to put someone else in those offices then you aren't going to do it without a broad coalition of local popular support. You build that support by building bridges, not standing in them. How's that for a one-liner?

And not to derail too much here, but it's ironic that I'm sitting here going Round 4 with Xno, when I just met a group of Dominican and Mexican family/friends who were talking about the parallels of Mexico and their own massive people's uprising and protesting that has been going on. How the Morena Party has been gaining steam with OG Lopez Obrador over the past decade, who is essentially Bernie Sanders with a power level of over 9000, where they might see them take power in the next election in a few years.

What also stood out to me, which not many people realize (even "SJWs" like me who try to keep up with world news) is that the indigenous population makes up over 20% of the country, which makes a big difference in that they are more united than PoC are here in the U.S.(for obvious reasons like deeper culture and longer history of resistance), despite fighting against similar systems of targeted oppression and state violence.

There's currently two proposed laws in MA right now that would change the charge of assault on PD from a misdemeanor to a felony and increase the maximum sentence from 2.5 to 5 years or 2.5 to 10 years. There's also another law that would add police to list of groups where vandalism or crime in general could be considered a hate crime.

Actually, I think last time I was there a little over a year ago my uncle got some on our pizza. It was really good. But in my families we don't cook with them at all honestly. My family is huge into lechon though lol.

I've been in law enforcement for 9 years, and I've never once seen a charge for assaulting a officer actually stick to a person. Even after I was personally assaulted with a bat and suffered a torn ACL.
