At this point, I think Charles Kinsey deserves a chance to fire at this cop accidentally three times.

I'm reaching new levels of how much I actively hate a person. This level of hate is reserved for people like Jenny McCarthy. This is "I want to actually do physical harm to you" levels of hate. My god, how fucking retarded do you have to be to aim at an autistic dude sitting with a toy truck THREE TIMES, miss EVERY SHOT, and then HIT THE DUDE ON THE GROUND WITH HIS HANDS UP?! How can one person fuck up so spectacularly bad and still be a fucking police officer? What the fuck does accountability mean anymore? And why the fuck is the union defending him?

Again, if I were a police officer, especially one in Miami, I would be driving to that dude's house and punching him in the dick for putting my life in danger.

EDIT: The union released a statement from the officer: “I took this job to save lives and help people. I did what I had to do in a split-second to accomplish that. And hate to hear others paint me as something I am not.”

More seriously, I'm presuming it's a trigger discipline thing. I wasn't aware these things were universally codified.

Jeff Cooper's Four Rules:

1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

There are a few variants which cover more but Cooper's four rules are succinct and when followed you've mitigated 99.9% of accidents. I see it as like the Ten Commandments only with a more tangible result when one or more rules are broken.

State of Florida will more than likely pull his certification, won't be able to work for any police departments in FL without it.

Not really enough. I do appreciate you taking the time to post here. I know it can't be easy. But reading this shit all the time just gets old. I've had some shitty run ins but nothing to the level of what some of the people on here have had to deal with or even black people in general. After reading some shit others have talked about I'm shocked me and my friends didn't get pulled over more often. Maybe it was because I was the "white" guy in the car which allowed the other 2-3 black people to not get harassed.

One problem I see with police unions, and it's very evident in this case, is that some of them have the wrong idea as to what their job is. As I see it, their job is to advocate for the police force, not advocate for every individual officer regardless of conduct. When you advocate for someone like this, you're doing more harm than good to the police force as a whole. Pick and choose your battles; this was not one where I would have come out in such stark defense of the individual involved. At the very least I would have given a more muted response until further facts are available and the investigation is further along.
