Except it shows that the unions are fucking shit.

Evans said the delays were “difficult” and expressed frustration with union leadership, which he said he believed was in “a different place than cops on the beat.”

After last week’s ruling, BPPA President Pat Rose said in a statement that the union was disappointed in the decision, but felt it was necessary to “challenge the City when they violate signed agreements.”

So on one hand you have Police who WANT to fix things, and the unions who just want more power. And people wonder why I despise unions...

The only thing that bothers me is that the Ohio police didnt show the actual gun they recovered from the teenager (probably because its in evidence lockup), they showed a "picture of a replica of the gun", instead of "a picture of the gun". BB guns are supposed to have a bright orange tip, for that very reason.

Airshits are required to have the orange tip which takes all of 5 seconds to take off. Combine that and the 95% resemblance to a real gun and now you have what looks exactly like a gun to anyone even just a few feet away. Especially at being pointed at.

I just want to know what happened in this kids life that at 13 he's out doing Armed Robbery. I'm not blaming the kid here either, just sad that at such a young age violence was already a matter of fact for him. These are the issues that need to be tackled and looked into, no kid should live like that.

However I know these things well enough to know that this will be glossed over entirely as the media blows this up into a White vs. Black race war. Its like ignoring the Mental health crisis behind gun violence/shootings and just focusing on gun laws...

The problem isn't that it's being converted into a race issue, the problem is that America doesn't know how to have a conversation about race.

It's definitely a race issue. Or, at least, ties into race issues. There's a lot of factors involved, but most of them stem in some fashion or another from Slavery. Think about the way slavery ended: Millions of soldiers dead, their families grieving, a nation torn apart... and into this, you introduce millions of poor, uneducated, culturally distinct people who were the focus of all that destruction. Add to that the existing racism of the time- even countries which didn't practice slavery commonly thought of races as having superior/inferior traits- and you have a recipe for some really, really shitty integration. It wasn't until the last ~50 years that black people even gained equal legal status to their fellow citizens, and the law and practice seldom move in sync. In this case, practice has been remarkably slow to catch up.

Partly that's due to the piss-poor integration of freed slaves. You're poor, you have no job, no marketable skills, and all your neighbors hate you... you're gonna try to find others like yourself and stick together. So the black community became rather more insular than those of normal immigrants, however persecuted. And an insular, poor, uneducated, persecuted community has very little opportunity for self-improvement, and when the people doing the persecuting (or perceived to be doing the persecuting- it doesn't matter whether it's true or not, all that matters is the perception) are the people who would normally keep the peace, there's also plenty of opportunity for those impoverished souls to get their leg up through extralegal means.

You can also make a convincing case that it's a class issue- that poverty is the root of many of the problems.

But people don't think about that. They think about the here and now, because history is for nerds, and muh guns, and stop oppressing me.

There are legitimate racial issues that need to be addressed, not least the "few bad apples" spoiling the bushel of our police force. But there are also broader economic issues whose solutions will be just as valuable and relevant, and people get all defensive and hold those up, insisting they're the ONLY concern.

I have never understood why it's just a small (removable!) tip that's required to be orange. Make the whole damn thing orange, green, blue, w/e unnatural neon color and then there's no question.

WHat carrier are they using to not need buffer assembly? The extar was side charging iirc. or is a .22lr?

I'm also pretty sure the Extar Exp used a side CH as well. Pretty sure it's not an OA-93 or Serbu. Could very well be a .22 or even just a normal AR with the stock not attached.
