Let me know when I can see the same sort of pressure emanating from social media, and the media at large in regards to drugs other than weed that they show in regards to guns. It's easy for people to mandate a ban on guns when they are things that they have never interacted with, will never interact with, and have no interest in, and who's only knowledge of comes from hyped up shootings and fringe social movements that regard any of the inherent reasons for the violence that comes attached to the object. I also ask you to take a step back and try to objectively decide which you think would be easier to do as well as which would help/save more people. A total removal of guns from the country, or a legalization and manufacturing of drugs in tandem with a shift of DEA related law enforcement in drug addiction and mental health programs. Or banning and removing all guns?

To accomplish this kind of death toll with a gun(even an AR-15 since everyone likes to bag on those) it would have taken a skilled marksman more than four complete 30 round mags, hitting every shot, all while people scrambled after the first shot was heard.

Just to reinforce what you're saying. Guy walked into my college with a semi-automatic, a pistol and a shotgun into a busy crowded school, fired 50 shots and wounded 19 and killed 1. No I wasnt there, thank god. There were also two cops on the scene for something unrelated, which could have made this incident go much much worse.

It is not easy to fire accurately at moving targets. Especially not firing off rounds at a rapid pace.

Last gun I shot was an AK-47, semi-auto. We were only using the iron sights, and it was very accurate with single shots. Each follow up shot though requires you to realign the front sight with the back sight over your target, and then of course don't forget to hold your breath while you squeeze the trigger to reduce your weapon sway. And pull the gun stock firmly towards your shoulder to reduce your recoil/increase your stabilization. You were not hitting shit if you just tried to empty the clip as fast as you could. I have 1000's of hours on the range, so I am fairly experienced.

That is alot to think about while also firing at humans running for their lives.

Folding stock, really only increases portability. Decreases accuracy in most cases because you don't have the support from your shoulder to deal with the recoil.

Look up bump fire stocks if you wanna get your panties in a bunch. Spring loaded stocks that allow you to fire full auto even with a semi-auto receiver(IE legal). The recoil from the shot is redirected by the spring in the stock to allow you to repeatedly pull the trigger while simply holding your same position.

I'm no IPSC but I can maintain a 2" grouping at 25 yards with a pistol at 50 yards with my AR-15 with irons and/or RDS. Best grouping at longer distance was 3.75" at 500 yards with .308

An AR-10 would fit your desires. Mine is far from gucci but I can do up to 500 yards fairly well.

It is an amazing battle rifle! It may not have the accuracy of the AR, but when developed battle rifles didn't need to. Plus durability. I never had to clean mine, but when I did I was amazed that it was able to fire with the junk I scraped out of it. My ARs need a good cleaning every few hundred rounds.

Back on topic, this is going on in my city:

A man was shot by a police officer Friday night after he reportedly reached into a stalled vehicle in the middle of a north Tulsa road instead of complying with officers' commands to raise his hands.

An officer had stopped about 7:40 p.m. to investigate why the sport utility vehicle was stalled in the middle of 36th Street North, just west of Lewis Avenue, while the officer was on his or her way to another call, police spokeswoman Jeanne MacKenzie said.

Before getting out of the car, the officer radioed for backup.

As that officer and the backing officer walked toward the SUV, a man — identified only as 40 years old and black — apparently approached the two officers from the side of the road, MacKenzie said.

The officers ordered the man multiple times to put his hands up, and the man reportedly didn't comply before reaching into the SUV. One officer deployed a Taser at the man, and shortly thereafter the other officer fired one shot, MacKenzie said.

The man dropped to the ground and was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center. An EMSA spokesperson said a person was taken from the scene in emergent condition, meaning either serious or critical.

MacKenzie didn't release whether the Taser deployed successfully. She also didn't release whether the officers said they'd seen a weapon in the car or on the man.

“We don’t know if there was a weapon in the vehicle or not," she said, saying as of about 9 p.m. that they hadn't searched inside the SUV.

The officer who shot at the man will be placed on leave during the investigation of the shooting, according to department protocol. The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office will rule on whether the shooting was justified, MacKenzie said.

Rodney Goss, a pastor at the Morning Star Baptist Church in north Tulsa, said he expects public outrage after seeing the videos.

“His hands were in the air from all views,” Goss said.

Goss and others were shown three videos: dash camera footage from two of the responding officers’ vehicles and footage from the police department’s helicopter camera.

From Goss’ perspective, he said, Crutcher failed to exhibit behavior that would potentially warrant being shot by a police officer.

The footage show’s Crutcher’s SUV parked in the middle of the road because it had broken down, Goss said. Crutcher is seen walking toward officers, seemingly seeking help. The videos later show Crutcher walking toward his vehicle, after which he was Tasered by one police officer and subsequently shot by another officer’s gun.

However, Goss said, Crutcher did not reach into his vehicle — he moves toward it without any apparent sudden movement.

“It was not apparent at any angle from any point that he lunged, came toward, aggressively attacked, or made any sudden movements that would have been considered a threat or life-threatening toward the officer,” Goss said.

Crutcher did not appear to have a weapon, Goss said.

Crutcher was Tasered and shot almost simultaneously, Goss said.

“It wasn’t a matter of minutes, it was a matter of moments, where as quick as the officer released the Taser from his hand, Terence was falling to the ground having already been shot,” he said.
However, the most disturbing part of the footage, Goss said, is not Crutcher being shot, but rather the moments directly after.

“After having been shot, a couple minutes it appears, but it seemed like a lifetime, went by before anyone actually checked with him as far as pulse — as far as whatever the case may be,” Goss said.
Goss said it was unclear if Crutcher fully heard or understood the officers’ commands to stop as he was walking toward his vehicle.

Police also released audio from the shooting. Goss said one of the men in the police helicopter can be heard clearly stating that Crutcher’s hands were up.

Goss said a man in the police helicopter can also be heard saying that Crutcher looked like “one bad dude.”

“There was a perception problem before there was ever a shooting,” Goss said.

Goss said he was shocked after seeing the videos.

“If he was simply seeking help, then why was there such an aggressive approach to him as if he had done something wrong?” he said. “We don’t have all the nuances and all the details, but to this point, there appears to be no negative connotations that would have warranted any aggression on the behalf of the police officers.”
