Because the man put himself, the driver and the cops in a lose-lose position by choosing to make the bus the place where he wants to fight for his civil liberties. Instead of, you know, headquarters where someone in charge can make a decision that overrules the driver or in court, if the metro system tells him to fuck off. It seems he has no problem lawyering up, why not before he gets himself tased? He said in the video that he's been kicked off before and lost his fare. Kinda sounds like he was asking for something to go down.
I do find it funny that he's sitting down for the interview though.
