I too don't understand why the cop didn't coercively rape her instead of beating her.

And that's honestly awesome..... Except the other female that got assaulted appears to be shoplifting some fine clothes for herself, so it's kinda different.

only difference is who the recipient of the shoplifting is and the motivation, this should be obvious. I don't get how you're connecting the motivation with the asault.

Not connecting the motivation to the assault, connecting the motivation of the officers helping the one shoplifter against the other. Since you said officers should have handled this case like the other.

One is stealing necessities for her children, while the other is stealing luxury items for herself.

One female receives the items she was stealing as gifts from some very generous officers, while the other was getting summoned or arrested before a officer lost his mind.

Edit* and I completely missed the entire point behind your comment "no violence".... I need to learn2read.

is there some point im missing? they shoplifted for different reasons .... and?

edit: by motivation, i meant the shoplifter's motivation for shoplifting, not the officers for helping/hurting.

It's a job where you see the worst of humanity almost 24/7. No one calls the cops out to have a cookie (unless they need their air conditioner fixed). That being said, there's a lot of guys who don't hesitate to cough up some cash for someone if they need it. If I hit a 7-11, the guys panhandling outside will usually get bottles of water and sandwiches if I have time or cash to spare. Sometimes I'll pitch in for some coffee or something. It's nothing special to do stuff like that so it doesn't deserve praise, but what those officers did for Momma and Co., is definitely commendable. It's a job where you gotta think outside the box and that's one of those instances.

WTF? I can't tell whether or not HuffPost got Onioned here. Nothing good can come of this:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_3731487.html

    Article:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona announced Thursday he will start requiring his deputies to carry AR-15s at all times and expects them to use the weapons to fight crime even when they're off duty. “While this decision may seem controversial to some in the public and among other law enforcement agencies, I have extreme confidence in the training and professionalism of the men and women deputies in the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office,” Arpaio said, according to AZ Family.
While announcing the new requirement, Arpaio noted that two of his deputies "died under violent circumstances" last year and another "was shot several times but survived."
"I want all my deputies to be armed with the greatest firepower available 24 hours a day," Arpaio said.
Jorge Vargas, a 27-year-old detention officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, died earlier this week after he was shot in the driveway of his home, apparently while getting ready for work. Arpaio, who is still searching for his colleague's killer, said he does not know the motive for the killing, or whether the officer was targeted, according to NBC.
"Right now the main mission is to find this guy and get him in jail," Arpaio said during a press conference on Vargas's death.

I can understand that as legit, they really are not the first department to do that.

Back in January I did a few ride alongs with the lee county sheriffs in FL. Responded to a person shot call, all all the deputies that responded had AR's

When they go full tactical military response to every domestic violence call and taze/pepper spray everyone with a mental illness. That's about when they will start talking about blowing up speeding cars because it is safer than approaching the vehicle on the side of the freeway.

That is fucking nuts. I know the Sheriff's office I work for, they do have AR-15's for staff, but you have to pass a training/safety class to check it out. In fact, everything except your service pistol and rifle if on patrol requires training and I believe either yearly or bi-yearly re-certifications. AR-15's, shotguns, tasers, L.T.L. weaponry, and I'm sure plenty others all fall under that.

Also even though it doesn't require special training, I know all sworn here have to do yearly remedials on just basic firing, both night and day shoots.

I thought the thread was the most appropriate place to post this even though the cops didn't do anything wrong.

This is how it SHOULD be done:

Officers had the threatened pair leave the home and approached a bedroom. Police say Isadore shot through the door at officers but missed hitting them.

More officers were called, including a SWAT team that inserted a camera into the room and confirmed Isadore had a handgun.

Never too old to suicide by cop! It will be interesting to hear whether the guy had dementia, was mobile, posed a threat to anyone but the cops, etc.
