Demo is out
Demo is out
Can not wait for this game, god damn.
Anyone pick up the demo? I heard it's 2 levels, so figured I'd avoid it rather than cut the game short/have to replay something.
Mission 1 (bumblebee) and Mission 6 (vortex) and only the initial segment of both of them. It has a multiplayer map though, so that's been fun.
demo's been awesome. but is it just me, or do the load outs look like they've dropped a lot of things..
for a start scientist seems to have lost his "camouflage"
grenades are gone
double jump is gone
climbing up things is a pain in the ass when you're in robot mode now.. cause you have to jump accurately instead of just double jumping mistakes
I tried to play WFC again, and FOC does feel better, but it feels more simple..
Whos your favorite transformer?
Growing up during the Beast Wars (the fucking awesome) era, i'm partial to Rattrap and Gorilla Optimus
Optimus and Jazz here. Still have my original Optimus toy from when I was a kid (although the paint is chipped, the stickers are barely hanging on, and pieces of the trailer are missing..). Jazz unfortunately didn't make it, but I picked up one of the 25th(I think) anniversary ones a few years back.
Just went back through War's campaign mode in prep for tomorrow, so pumped.
So did anyone pick this up? Haven't found much on reviews and haven't played War yet so debating about picking that up used.
Favorite transformers are Soundwave and Cyclonus. Is this game worth the $65? o,o
Depends entirely on how much you plan to play the MP. If you're buying it just for the campaign mode, probably not, since you can be done with that in around 12 hours. Not that campaign is bad or anything, but all on it's own it doesn't justify the price tag.
Multiplayer has a good spread of modes, including a much better tuned escalation mode, and the classes are a little more balanced than they were in War. Kind of sucks only having one class action trigger now, but making dash a baseline move was a fair tradeoff.
My copy from Gamestop still hasn't come in yet.. quite irritating >.>;
Came in today, got to play it a bit. Honestly surprised at how different it feels compared to War. It's not just the fact that your teammates are gone and a lot of it (at least the first two missions) are mostly solo, but things feel more scripted and story driven. War had objectives, but they were clearly just there to usher you from one fight to the next. This one is more objective driven and feels a lot like a Halo or CoD in terms of the objectives and what not.
Yeah, the game comes off as a lot more linear but then I started realizing how much I didn't find while playing through the game and did a little exploring. I like the story-driven approach, it gives a lot more of an individualized feel to the characters.
only problem is that you get stuck playing the bad guys AND the good guys... often within the same setting..
"ATTACK THE TRANSPORTER!"
now
"DEFEND THE TRANSPORTER!"
feels wrong, but it's minor
why dont more people play this game?
it's fucking great!
I want to but my gaming time is currently filled by guild wars 2 and darksiders 2.
