They probably won't. But it is a huge loss for everyone if they do. If one of the big three buy them then they will lay off everyone in the US's publishing branch.

I honestly think it's far more likely that they'll end up breaking Atlus down and selling off it's IPs in chunks, similar to what went down with THQ. I can't really think of any first or third parties that'd snap the entire company up, but I can imagine that there's more than a couple that'd be interested in grabbing some of their IPs to throw to their own studios.

Wouldn't be a bad grab for Bamco as far as third-parties go, since their line-up could use some fresh titles.

At least pre-existing obligations for Atlus seem to be going ahead as contracted, so we'll be getting SMT4/Dragon's Crown before shit hits the fan.
