Random PUGs in any game are notoriously bad, so it's little surprise that they tried to gear them towards the most idiot-proof setup possible. When you have people capable of screwing up Lancer tanking these things, just imagine how the average pickup Warrior would fare as a main tank.
So why, then, would you allow a game that is heavily dependent on both questing and instance grinding as a means of progression, essentially only to have a single tank class, and then mandate that the dungeon-finder must have a tank? You're setting yourself, and your player-base, up for disaster. You're setting anyone up that isn't a Lancer for massive, massive queues. They should have brought in an additional, traditional tank class if they felt that the average warrior couldn't hack it as a tank.

I don't necessarily mind that they feel iffy about Warrior tanking in the overall sense. They've buffed its damage to the point where it can function as either or, but again, you are then left with 2 healers, a slew of DPS, and a lone, single tank class. For those with statics, this is no issue, but for the rest of us, we know good and well just how much the average person enjoys playing a tank. Its hard to find tanks regardless, but then you essentially castrate one of the nuts off of the tanking scholng by only having 1 available tank... the massive ques are completely understandable at that point.

Either open it up, or make a second true tanking class.

I wouldn't think EME could do anything about this apart from making warriors able to que as tanks.

I suppose EME (they can't actually produce additional content, only modify it, right?) cannot.

They need to allow a way to grind other rep factions, you can only grind 1 faction for rep... very... slowly... (way too many ranks imo)

Hostile, Suspicious, Apprehensive, Wavering, Neutral, Favorable, Friendly, Trusted, Revered
You can buy the vendor mount item (for 3,500 rep coins) which you probably won't have till revered anyway.
Oly 3 daily quests, each 600-800 rep, wavering requires 9000 rep to go neutral... 12000 fav, 20,000 for friendly, 20,000 to trust... O_o (25rep per mob kill)

Matching is a pain because it doesn't work, additionally factoring in players who can't seem to tank.

I did a BoL run with 4 dps and that was super easy. The group was smart enough to stay in my heal circles. Another time I go with lancer and warrior and everyone got trashed, was a huge mess.

I love getting dps warriors while on my slayer alt that do not use any debuffs AT ALL on the bosses. How the fuck do you only cycle through Death from Above, Vortex slash and Rain of Blows?

Edit: Even better when that same warrior wins the armor you've been farming for, after dying 3 times on the 2nd to last boss of NT due to sitting in puddles of shit.

Eventually Warriors will be able to queue up as tanks, but it depends on when BHS finishes testing it. If it is just a straight up translation of having the Warrior class tank, we might get it in June? But if there needs to be "slight" modifications whether to buffs or additional skills or tweaks or modifications when it comes to boss damage received (see if cool downs allow for cycles to occur in a timely manner) etc. then chances are that will add an additional month or two. Yeah it wasn't a good just have one tank queue up for dungeons, but nothing can be done at this point but to wait for the update.

*Don't use debuffs on bosses... use only one move... game detects you are not a super duper player and allows you to win phat(not fat!) loot*

What update are you speaking about? Is there some difference between the U.S. and Korean versions that somehow makes Warriors magical tanks over there, or this just another example of a game catering to the lowest common denominator?

Don't get me wrong, I have no intentions of whiteknighting the game in the complaint thread, but outside of the queue system I'm just genuinely curious about where the game seems to cater to the lowest common denominator. It's been my impression that the game is pretty much focused around providing content to the upper 10% of the playerbase. Even some of the tooltips address common scrub problems ("Don't flirt during BAM fights", "Inspect your party member's gear to make sure they aren't going to hold you back", etc). Even when the game starts handing out golds for quest rewards, that equipment is easily stomped by enchanted instance and crafted armor sets. I run around with full +6 armor and have about 35% more defense than the questline gold armor would offer me at this level.

Gimps aren't really given a free pass that I've noticed outside of the game's egregious reverence of the dLVL stat. This seems more of a holdover from the old exp curve. It's just annoying to get ganked by some level 60 Slayer only to inspect them and see them wearing some shit-tier level 45 blues and a single level 11 crystal. How the fuck does anyone end up that gimp in a game that hands you basic armor/weapons as you level?

The next Queen of Argon update coming out in Korea around summer(?). They're adding a stamina bar for lancers/warriors that will needed for blocking and such. Warriors dodge will also have no cooldown.

I'm starting to hate the NA/EU enchanting in this game. 6k gold spent on nothing but powders just to go from +7 to +8 on T12 gloves (only superiors were used as sacrifices). This wouldn't be nearly as bad if there were still eggs in the game. Instead, the only way you're able to get the proper powders is via store now. I think I prefer the KTera method simply because no one in their right mind used anything but blue powders anyways past +6, so the chances of de-lvling was close to zero.

Spellbinds are massively expensive, too. 200g+ to keep just one stat per reseal attempt? No thanks, I'll just try my luck with the 5g scrolls and keep at it, lol.

So you really do have to re-spellbind it for each attempt? Geez, that is kinda shitty.

Yeah, its pretty insane trying to get revered right now even with aoe'ing down packs of 6-10 for rep. :/

Oh thank God for the cooldown-less dodge. My warrior is only 16, and I haven't started tanking anything major yet, but I was always wondering how the hell Warrior was supposed to actually dodge mobs when its restricted to 6 seconds. I was assuming there would be a glyph with like a 75% chance to reset the dodge cooldown or something, but this works out as well.

@Le Burninator: The tooltips, while refreshing, are nothing that couldn't be gleaned from anyone who has played MMOs since WoW; almost all of them feel directly ripped from experiences in other MMOs, which makes sense, as that's probably the best way to write them. I'm pleased at EME for writing them, but I'm not going to give them some sort of blowjob or anything for doing it. Its all common knowledge.

And I'm with you, bro: The difference between instanced golds and quest golds are night and day, but that's not going to excuse EME in my mind for not doing something about Warriors not being listed as tanks in dungeon finder, yet being listed as tanks on the description page. Yes, I know its difficult, but hell, I'm a priest on my alt; I can heal a shitty lancer, and I can heal a shitty warrior, and I'd rather be given the chance to do so than to have to sit in a que for an hour because in a game with upwards of 7 classes, only one classifies as a tank, and the game can somehow match people based on their gear level, but can't use that same gear level as a threshold as to whether or not a Warrior can tank the instance or not.

A "solution" of sorts to this tank problem would simply to perform a numerical gear check on the warrior in question, and if the warrior's gear or level is high enough, place them into the queue as a tank. If it isn't, then place them in the queue as a DPS. If a warrior "tank" gets matched up with a lancer "tank" in the same party, then its no harm, no foul (and that's really my favorite class build anyway, with another sustained DPS - archer/slayer - and a nuke DPS - zerker/sorc -). The odds of a well-geared or instance-overleveled warrior being a completely shitty tank isn't as high as the frustration level that people are experiencing at the massive queues.

I don't think you are WhiteKnighting, and even if you were, I wouldn't call you out on it, because the game -is- a hell of a lot of fun. I just know where I stand right now; most people are in a rush to hit 60, you can't really have higher levels rush lower levels through instances and gear up, and quite frankly, I enjoy running instances more than anything in this game right now. I love to run them again, and again, and again, until I have golds in every slot, or I'm overleveling the instance by nearly double digits. I can't really do that ATM when my healer (A FUCKING HEALER) is sitting in monster queues, and if I have to level another alt through the lowbie zones again, I'm going to shoot myself (even though I'm currently doing just that as a Lancer, just so I can finally have a class that allows me to do the one thing I'm really enjoying about the game - running instances). Notice I didn't even mention my Zerker main; that's just pointless to even queue.

Its getting to the point where I will refuse anyone who wants to static with my tank, because I already know that I won't want to be tied down to anyone's schedule, since I can effectively have a .5 second wait in a que, whenever I so desire.

This comes into question though if the warrior WANTS to tank and if his item level is actually equipped or items in his bags as well. I can tank just fine on my warrior, but i'm not glyphed for it, so in order to tank dungeons I try to be at least the lvl of the bosses or 1 lvl under at max. I agree warriors should be able to queue up as tank if they want, but id rather be able to decide if I want to do dps or tank, aka if I want to sit around for an hour or go in instantly. (this depends, since I can grind quests while in queue so no biggie)

A nifty little drop-down icon for Warrior would be a handy solution, then, especially as they've designed the job (now) to do two things separate from one another.

Yeah, or even let it be like WOW where you can select multiple roles, or offer rewards for tanks queuing up that are minor things like armor dyes/potions.

Offering any choice for warrior i.e to queue as tank or dps/melee would basically end up being useless as mentioned before, as they'd just queue as a tank for faster instances then claim they want to dps. Either way at least the lower level instances can generally make do with a bunch of classes, it's just easier with a dedicated tank and well pug's yeah it's always a roll of the die
