Someone explain to me why you can receive items when dead, chat when dead, gain XP when dead, get quest updates when dead, but can't lot when dead?
Anyways, I'm still annoyed instance queuing is locked to PVP or PVE servers only. Takes forever to get a group anytime of the day that isn't prime-time on Jagged Coast. Wish EME would have a monthly Q&A for the community so we could get some useless side-stepped answers back Sundi-style.
It seems the "You-Go-Buy-Fried-Rice-For-Four-Nine-Nine" folks have come back with a vengeance. The official forums are officially nuked with gold spammers spamming gold.

Taken 10 minutes ago. What are they doing!?
Just a thought, I think you opened yourself up for fire there =p (by using IE9) XD
Work PC? Bottom bar is bare...
Yes, IE9 is a travesty, but the contents of those screenshots is worse.
Looking it over, every thread has come from a single account, so it could just be one guy with a vendetta; in any case, it's pretty hilarious/sad at the same time.
That works? Well shit...
Devs fault for not listening to the forum. People have pointed out multiple times in the past month that you need to lock the forum to subscribers only.
Granted, the forums are pretty much useless in general in their current inception.
Was there ever any indication of how many people work at En-Masse?
I found the forums initially useful when reading feedback/comments about the beta, but since then I've not been back.
Also, you spelled their wrong. IE9. Quite the travesty.
Top one isn't his screenshot; it was on the OF.
I'll put my name in as someone who is being really turned off by some of the ridiculous gambling involved with this game. I love this game's combat. I don't mind the lack of interesting questing or a good story line. I don't mind the lack of content and am willing to wait for more. I don't even mind the lack of BGs, but plan to participate a lot when it eventually comes out. I play a fair amount, I'm willing to spend a lot of time to get the gear I want. I dont even mind the terrible drop rates.
What I do mind is the double layer of gambling. Having low drop rates, along with an incredibly unforgiving enchanting system. I want my +9s, but I see no end in sight. I've spent tens of thousands of gold trying to enchant and I haven't gotten a single +9.
What makes this even more troublesome is that some people get lucky and get their +9s with barely any effort. This causes a problem that is common to all rng. The people who get lucky are happy for a little bit, but the happiness is fleeting. The people who are stuck on the bad end of rng get very upset and it lingers as long as the bad luck does. This makes for far more unhappiness than it creates happiness.
So now you have a reasonable player like me, who loves this game, looking at other beta preview videos wondering what betas I should sign up for and what games to play.
I've subbed for 6 months, I'd gladly sub for another 6, but not if I'm going to have to spend that time having my fun ruined by an unforgiving gambling system.
And it's not just the enchanting. The glyph boxes are the same. The fact that you can get Alkahest out of it is brutal. How fair is that? I put equal effort, open a box and get 3 alkahest. Another person in my party does same and gets a useful glyph. And there's no end to it. I could end up finding alkahest out of all my boxes. Hell, with the numbers playing, it would be incredibly unlikely that there aren't many players who will never get a glyph out of the box.
All this gambling bs means that a player who wouldn't otherwise bitch is going to leave this game, which has so much potential, as soon as I find a more reasonable game with a combat system that measures up to Tera's.
That's not too far away either considering all the action combat mmos that are coming out.
I really hope EME realizes that this is a problem and does something to address it, because I do really enjoy this game when I'm not essentially scratching a ticket at a convenience store counter like a stringed out junky.
I got a glyph out of my 1st box, obviously the system is fine.
Nah j/k, the system is stupid as fuck and I cant understand how this whole "westernizing" thing went down. Why take out the crystal boxes and eggs and pet stores, yet leave this shit in? Why did they move Ascent and SA down in level instead of keeping them at 60 so there was more shit to do at 60...what was the fucking point? I mean sure it's ok to have SA there between NT and GL...but it's not fucking needed really. It rarely drops gear so doing it more then once is pointless..fuck doing it even once is pointless since there isnt even a story quest for it and I would rather quest burn through that area and do GL/AH instead at 50ish.
In regards to the glyph box stuff, on completing 3 bosses you get 3 and 3 for the tokens, with 15 for a random box and 60 for the ability to pick whatever. so the random might suck, its given to you every couple runs, and you can also pay around 100g per token and just buy a box. In the end, you have your random chance to not have to spend your 60 token on as many things reducing how many you ultimately need. if it was only the random box, as a way to get the glyphs, then there would be a major issue with time vs reward.
I get the Dire Badges get you a specific one which is nice. But the box creates random disparity problems. You could easily have a situation where two people run perfect ToT 60 times. That gets each 3 specific glyphs, but due to random luck, one person gets 12 random glyphs, the other gets 0 random glyphs. That's a big problem. I don't see why they wouldn't make them cost 20 badges but always give a random one. I don't get the fact that you can open a box and it gives you garbage. That's just fucking mean. Both players would have put in same effort, but due to random chance, one person would be significantly ahead of the other. I'm using an extreme example, but with the number of people playing, it's basically guaranteed to already have happened. I don't see how it makes the game more fun, or more playable. It servers no purpose.
I mean yeah, I guess it could keep the person who is getting fucked to play longer if they don't mind the shit they are being put through, but it could also drive them away from the game. They took so long to westernize this shit, so why didn't they actually westernize it?
The word 'Westernize' never made much sense to me. What do asian people see the other half of the world as, that they have to remake the game to remove things that made the game unique. I liked the pet/bazzar it not only let you sell stuff, buy buy stuff from other players while you where out playing the game. Is a barter system not a western theme, so they removed it? How about this 20x increase in exp to the point people rarely read the lore of the game, because they are being pushed off to the next leveling area before they even finish a fraction of the quests for that zone. Can western people not be bothered to read and play a game to the point that they have to be given max level right out of the box? Where did this idea that lucky eggs and fortune eggs would kill alchemy, that they removed it, and with it all the other stuff ( like glyph reset on the go gems). Are western people not smart enough to utilize alchemy for the scrolls and rune upgrades, that pots alone would kill the craft? The last thing is of course the upgrade system, which i think they got right with the westernize, since now its a system where anyone who tosses enough money at it, they will eventually get it to plus 9. Last thing tho, I dont know if its different in other clients, but I have a thing about the political system being an open vote system, where once one person votes, they can see the ranks of all those running in order of votes they have. Shouldnt a westernized political system be a closed ballot box, where you everyone votes not knowing what place there candidate is in. As a added note on the political system, why are areas to be contested via battle, set up like gvg? Everyone pretty much acknowledges the flaws in gvg battle, yet now that flaw of safe zones, snipers and overwhelming forces controls who get a zone now?
