BG's bugging like crazy today. First one all of the people on my team were enemies and could attack eachother, so we were just killing ourselves when attacking the enemy team. This last one the opposing team got 20 members... Getting annoying...

Crucible of Flame is so incredibly luck-based; if the coins don't cluster in the center, your chances of getting a good score is fucked. Case-in-point: Run #1's final score was 225704, and finished with about 20:13 left on the clock. No deaths. Run #2's final score was 220461, with 20:58 left on the clock (i.e. faster). No deaths. So what caused the massive 5000-point gap? Coins that decided to fall on the outskirts of the arena, rather than in the center. RNG is gonna RNG, but goddamn.
Additionally, the dungeon is also biased towards Mystics and Warriors, since pets can also collect coins. In essence, this means that a party that has both a Mystic and a Warrior has seven bodies to collect coins, where as any other group that doesn't have a Mystic and/or Warrior, only has five bodies. Stack RNG coins with with more (or less) bodies to collect said coins and it becomes a fucking crapshoot design.
wow @ pets/shadows did not know this

Hey look, one of the VERY FEW remaining Pay to Play MMO's is incredibly close to COMPLETELY removing gear from PVP!
This essential makes gear barely matter, or not at all, and makes anyone with any type of pvp gear(basically, victors can compete against fraywind/conjuct in tera terms) able to compete against the best PVP geared players. You also cannot use your PVE gear in PVP like visionmaker because there's an ILVL cap inside of competitive PVP. So cool! All characters now have a base Resilience of 65%.
Resilience has been removed from most PvP gear.
Season 13 Tyrannical gear had their item levels increased to ilevel 496, up from ilevel 493.
Season 13 Tyrannical Elite gear had their item levels decreased to ilevel 496, down from ilevel 512.
Battlegrounds, Rated Battlegrounds, and Arenas now have an ilevel cap. All gear will be scaled down to ilevel 496.
Oh, really? Is that why a pay to play MMO that relies 100% on monthly subs for income can pretty much completely remove the entire gated gear grind carrot in PVP? A F2P MMO such as Tera that has no monthly sub and makes all it's money selling consamables/cosmetics in a cash shop needs people sticking around grinding out gear for months EVEN LESS than a $15/month MMO, yet a $15/month MMO can pull it off and Tera can't? Why can a game that NEEDS people to stick around playing and grinding for gear for months can remove almost completely remove the gear grind? It's simple really, because no one wants to to put up and deal with that shit anymore, it's very boring, people are sick of it, and they'd rather not play at all than wait months/weeks to play their character. Arena was losing huge interest in WOW, all forms of PVP were. People were quitting PVP in droves, PVP participation was at an all time low in WOW. Gated progress carrots was making people quit, not making them stay. Changes needed to be made, the MMO genre needed to evolve.General populace requires a [gated progress] carrot to maintain interest - Senji
This isn't 2004 anymore, no one wants to be outgeared, no one wants to 1 shot undergeared people, no one wants to spend months grinding gear just to be able to play this class. People are sick of it, and moving on. This is the future, MMO's are changing, and people want to play competitively NOW with very little commitment in PVP. Many PVP players moved onto games such as LoL(Which is shit but actually competitive) and RTS. This is how most MMO's will be in the future, it might take a while to follow suit, but since every dev fucking loves copying WOW, it will happen soon.
Glad to know that archaic horrible 2004 design decisions are going the way of the dodo - can't wait to see what the future brings for MMO's. I am very excited that MMO's are finally starting to evolved. Tera would be a wonderful MMO if you could get past the infinite 0 fun korean gear grind, hopefully we will see this go away in a few years, or more games with fun combat like Tera will release and we will be able to enjoy the game to it's fullest, and not have to grind for decades to be able to play.
^ still salty.
we heard you the first time. Go be mad somewhere else
Oh look; a dying mmo normalized their gear stats. This has never happened before. More news at 11.
Spoiler: show
Every time I come here to read the forums I always see you complaining about Tera.
It doesn't take "months" to grind out competitive PVP gear in Tera. I know plenty of people that came back with F2P well behind the curb and have geared up Conjunct/VM +12 within a month or less.
Make some friends and go spend your time productively. Conjunct gear can basically be bought, only requiring minimal effort for the mats from BGs and Nexus which is a complete joke now.
Tera Random Complaint: Shiyo.
Meh, think he's just trolling us at this point so I'll just ignore.
lol.
In other news, that event on the official fourms lol
That OF event makes me want to punch a wall.
I'm glad I'm not actually excited for the maid outfit. If they did that for something I actually want like the unicorn mount, I would be driving myself mad trying to get one.
The event one is 7 day version, so it's worthless anyway.
I like that they wanted to do a fun little event, but it was so poorly executed. Only people who literally sit on the dev tracker, spamming F5 will get a code, because once one is revealed, it's used up to max capacity literally within a minute. So dumb.
So is this the thread where I complain about how the game is a steaming pile of horseshit and isn't any fun to play?
