This will be one of the best games to come out this year if they include the first few generations of Kirby. Early Kirby games are still god-tier in how well made they were.
QFT. I'd love to play Kirby's Dreamland 3 again.
Only Kirby game I ever played was the first one on Gameboy.
Looking forward to this.
Kirby Superstar had really fun co-op. Iirc when Kirby inhaled an enemy that could be used as a power you had the option to use it or turn it into a teammate. If you did the latter you could could op with a friend. I can't remember the exact process, but it allowed you to co-op with different characters and it was a ton of fun.
From the wiki about it:
<_< now I really want to play Kirby Super Star.Kirby Super Star allows Kirby to copy the abilities of his enemies, and then perform a wide range of attacks using these abilities. Kirby wears different hats and changes color according to the ability he is using.
One of the unique features of this Kirby game is the addition of a "helper". The helper is an enemy-turned-friend who follows Kirby around and helps fight enemies. A second player can use an additional controller to control the helper, making a solo experience into a two-player adventure. The helper also sometimes has abilities that Kirby does not when taken control of by a second player. For instance, if Kirby got a Wheel Kirby power and turned it into a helper, Kirby could ride on the helper. While Kirby would die after falling into a pit, a helper character had no such vulnerability. Most of the mini-games have two-player modes as well.
They should put a ported version of Canvas Curse on that. Was one of the best Kirby games I played in the last decade. Should work fine with IR controls for painting the lines.
kirby superstar is the only kirby game ever worth a damn, so perfect. they better include that
That gameboy game was so godlike.
List of games included is out! Must have for me.
http://gbatemp.net/topic/328997-more...apanese-price/Japanese magazine CoroCoro has revealed the full set of games to be included in Kirby’s Dream Collection Special Edition. A total of six classic titles will be added to the disc.
The list in full:
Kirby’s Dream Land
Kirby’s Dream Land 2
Kirby’s Adventure
Kirby Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Land 3
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Although these games have only been confirmed for Japan, I can’t imagine the selection being any different in North America. This would be a slight upgrade in content compared to Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition, which featured four classics.
I can dig it. though I wish more of the handhelds were included. Amazing Mirror is fantastic in its own right; the exploration-based gameplay was a nice change of pace.
Kirby's Pinball was really fun too.
Would have been cool if they did two collections. Console releases for Wii. Handheld for DS/3DS.
Current generation of 3DS owners really need to play Canvas Curse at least once.
I never played Crystal Shards.. always wanted to though~
I had always felt that Crystal Shards was one of the weakest Kirby installments. Now, I would maybe put Epic Yarn in its place due to difficulty... or the complete lack thereof.
Might not be difficult, but it's fun to play once through.
Nintendo direct is currently showing the collection

edit: trailer for it will be up later i assume
For those who were waiting for this, it comes out September 16th (this Sunday). Can't wait to play through some of the Kirby games I didn't get to when I was younger.
