Why would anyone be mad about a dumb list made up by a bunch of tabloid reporters?

Sure. I agree. But since I can already make money doing art I think I'll keep it as my end game.
But those of you who make abstract art.. Yeah.. Bugger off and find a real job!

YEAH BECAUSE MAKING A LARGE INCOME IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT AMIRITE?
Surprised Computer Science didn't end up on the success list in that article posted on page 1.
They're just mad about the poor life choices.
The actual Georgetown study that those numbers are pulled from: http://www9.georgetown.edu/grad/gppi...al.update1.pdf .
Don't know why this is news, though. Anyone dumb enough to go into one of those fields expecting to make good money is going to need that fall back to planet Earth.
brb changing my major from Computer Engineering to Petroleum Engineering.
#12-er reporting in. Feels good man.
Edit: Consequently, all of my friends are science majors so I am used to this kind of joking. Only my GF is an english major which even comes close to mine. Not sure why kids get mad if you consciously made the decision for your major.
Unless you apply for a job in a different country, in which case you need a piece of paper telling people you're good at something to get a visa. In most cases you're actually better off staying at home and doing online workshops than going to college or uni for art.
Religious studies should be #1 on that list, but Fine Art and Art History are very close contenders.
Also, most of the Phil/Poli Sci majors I know go into law school. I don't think many people realize that you can go to law school with any major.
I did both English and Economics at university, neither have ever been particularly useful. I think the extent of which I have used them is to impress management in emails and the such.
Put it this way, I work as a Design Engineer and would be in the exact same position if I had not bothered with university at all. I may have actually been better off if I had not gone as I delayed opportunities at work until I finished my studies.
Civil engineering encompasses all city infrastructure. Architecture encompasses making buildings look pretty. and for some reason, architects make way more, and have way more power on the job. Architects do learn some basic building structure, but mostly they rely on a Civil Engineer to do calculations (this is only referring to pure architects, not an Engineer-Architect).
Here's some flowcharts for curriculum at my school for both majors.

someone please point out the mad in this thread that keeps getting called
Theater degree's are so useless lol, I just shake my head when I hear people going for that. As if you need it to become an actor, I'm sure all the young actors all went through college.
