If they go that route, I would hope they generalize it to "defensive skills" and give +block to GLD, +parry to MRD/LNC, +eva to PGL/ARC, +m.eva to THM/CON. At least with that, GLD might care about the weapon.
...and since no one's mentioned it, of course it will have +15 wind resist and occasional extra wind damage.
I also forgot about movement speed.
Deep inside I can't help but feel like Ifrit weapons have attack/mattack+ because Attack was something related to fire in XI... not because they wanted the weapons to be useful. We were just lucky since he was the first primal.
I want to be wrong though. Please prove me wrong, Square-Enix.

However, I can see reduced skill timer and evasion/parrying weapons being useful in some situations since front line jobs could benefit from the activated skills and quicker WSes.
I'm sure he didn't get much direction other than "deep forest," "port town," or "windy highlands." Even just from watching the Uematsu piece of the "making of" videos made me feel like he was entirely separate from the whole project.
