People are already complaining about class stacking when they haven't even seen how they beat it too, lol

On a more serious note, the people who beat it (Durandal's BG) seems to have opted for pure firepower to burn through Garuda's phases faster judging from their setup in the screenshot they posted on the official forums (3 BLM 2 WAR 2 BRD 1 WHM I think), as they've also gotten the TA achievement along with it. Hence, it's probably not exactly the most standard setup, and not everyone can copy their strategy as you'll probably need good gears for it to do so.

Combine that with that fact that WAR is getting a slight nerf in the incoming lettered patches (as noted by a Japanese Dev post Yoshi-P made earlier), I think this strategy's going to be outdated pretty quickly.

Bit early to jump to conclusings, but at the same time really can't blame people. SE really hasn't sold me on knowing how to balance a fight.

Yoshi-P just posted a dev post confirming Durandal was the first server to beat it, which I'm guessing means that Durandal's BG was indeed the first.

He even got a comment from the person who was in charge of designing the battle, too:

"You got me good."

Lesson learned: Don't taunt the playerbase, you'll get your shit completed even faster.

On the other hand, I can't even defeat the lobby server because I keep getting timeouts. I managed to stay online for a whopping 30 minutes last night, and I'm afraid that I may have lost items like many are complaining about due to the small rollback.

Yeah unfortunately, I completed the Raven GC quest last night and then crashed when we teleported back to Gridania. Came back on this morning and the quest was marked incomplete and I need to finish the Magitek fight again >< Something to do tonight I guess....

So, now my rested bonus is giving my Lv.50 Fisher +50% exp. I'm 99% positive that Lv.50 classes never received any bonus at all from "rested" before. I can't tell if it's wasting the effect yet... I'm sure I'll find out soon if it actually wears off entirely while I'm fishing for Indigo Herring.

Noticed the same thing while mining. I hope the effect is not being drained by that...

Peng and I believe that MNK still has the highest possible single-target DPS ceiling out of all of the jobs, but, commensurately, it also has the highest skill ceiling due to positional combos.

Where does DRG fit for damage done and skill ceiling? I haven't played MNK myself but DRG has positional combos also, with the added annoyance of keeping those awful surges up

It shows up as 50% bonus but you dont lose any of your rested xp bonus, since your bar never moves. Probably just lazy programming but rested bonus isnt used on R50 jobs.

This is new though, isn't it? Am I getting senile? I'm thinking it's just an oversight since I think they just added visual exp gains for DoH/DoL this patch.

Also, it looks like they finally caught on and made sure that Fishers' important items this patch come from gathering points only (Navigator's Ear and Indigo Herring). I guess I can't ignore Output anymore. ;[

You got the bonus on R50 classes before but either it only applied to DoWM or it just didn't show in the log for DoHL.

According to mooglebox, Garuda weapons have sanction effects: ACC+20 for melee, Refresh+1 for mages. Was this news yesterday and I missed it? Why is SE trolling us so hard?

Is there something wrong with that? I didn't expect them to have any sanction effects at all, so it's nothing but a good thing.

This. I didn't say there was anything wrong with the weapons having sanction, but it's still A+ trolling from SE.

Speaking of sanction, I think the MNK company weapons are the worst offender so far. 1 more damage than Ifrit's, -15enmity, and Sanction: Attack Power+45 (Flames) / INT+40 (Storms).
