Wait what? Nexon is bigger then EA? Realllly?
Also, this has to be the biggest troll ever...
Sure says a lot about the potential of free-to-play games if this is true. I wish more western devs would realize this.
While business is business and anything can happen, I really just don't believe this would ever ever take place.
MAYANS WERE RIGHT
ToR going F2P confirmed.
Spoiler: show
Nexon at least trys as a company. I approve.
Call of Duty: Maplestory.
wait wrong franchies?
If EA's annualized franchises were f2p I might actually play them.
And so begins the Mabinogi Curse.
There's an article over on Tom's that says financially, it's unlikely to happen.
That said, I would like to see EA outcompeted and made some other company's bitch, because they have been such evil little fuckwads.
lol
Aren't those F2P games usually bombarded with cash shops and ultimately makes the character or game irrelevant unless you continually buy shit?
That, and they're known for stealing the intellectual property of other indie groups and cashing in on their success. These guys make EA look like literal saints.
Nexon isn't a "good company", but to even compare them to the cancer that is EA much less say they are worse is laughable. Cash shops actually aren't a problem at all in any of the games and if you think they are then you clearly just aren't a fan of the cash shop model in general. Nexon make fun games and then they pretty much abandon them. They don't hire enough people to maintain their games after they are complete which leads to problems with servers crashing, bugs going unfixed for long periods of time, and just a general lack of support for people that need help. EA pretty much does the same thing except you not only pay for it, but the game you dropped 60 bucks on isn't even good.

honestly, if you want to look at cash shops done right and aren't fucking shady, look to how Sony does things.
I'm not saying their microtransaction model is amazing. I'm saying it's not a problem. Obviously some companies commit to selling only cosmetic things and that's clearly better.
Isn't going to happen anyways. Kind of pointless to talk about.
