In the time it takes for most characters get to level 3, I can bully a player into at least two kills. In a free for all, you're better off with most character's level 2's, if you don't happen to find an opening until level 3, then all the better. During NYCC, I shut down a radec completely by pressuring him with dante. He was trying to aim for his level 3 and through setting up grabs, I kept him stuck to level 1's
Looks like all those teasers were for PSA:BR
Beta up on PSN Store now for non PS+ members, gotta search for it.
played the beta on vita.
It was not very enjoyable.
Ironically, if they were to release that Russian commercial posted above in America, it would probably be a hit.
smash bros rip-off using a rip-off smash bros commercial.
maybe a bit of a stretch I guess since the only thing it has in common are the real life mascots
I lack reading comprehension.
Edited.
The recent patch seemed to fix a lot of my connectivity issues. Actually got to play a fucking game for once, just to learn that the lack of offline training mode really hurts.
How do you get access to the Vita beta anyhow? Curious to see if I 'like' it more as a handheld game than console. Not seeing it on the Canadian PSN here.
Spoiler: show
DLC Characters Kat and Emmett will be free for the first two weeks early next year
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/...yale-for-free/Have you ever wondered what dev teams do after a game goes gold? If all is going well, often times they get down to business with DLC. And in fact that’s exactly what we have begun. I’m here today to announce the first DLC characters that will be joining the All-Stars roster: Kat from Gravity Rush, and Starhawk‘s Emmett Graves!
In addition to the signature weapons you’ll remember from his duels with the Outcasts on Dust, Emmett’s playstyle will also utilize Starhawk’s unique “Build-in-Battle” system, calling down help from the sky.
Kat’s approach turns gravity on its head with some mind-bending new ways to move as she positions herself for her unique brand of aerial assault. Together, they make up one of the most original duos in All-Stars.
These DLC All-Stars still have a long way to go before they’re ready to be shown off, but we wanted to let you know what the team will be working on now that we’ve gone gold with the main game, and that you can look forward to playing them… for free!
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale: Emmett
Yes, you heard that right. We’re very happy to announce these first two DLC characters will be free to everyone for the first two weeks once they are available for download early next year.
That may sound a little tricky, so let me be clear: once Kat and Emmett are finished, we’ll put them up for download. They’ll be totally free for two weeks. The only limit is that you have a two-week window to claim the characters. Once you have Kat and Emmett, they are yours forever. That may sound like a lot to remember, so don’t worry, we’ll be back closer to their release to remind you of all these details.
Everyone at SuperBot, Bluepoint, and Santa Monica Studio has tried hard not only to make a great game, but also to keep the fans very firmly in mind, offering the most we can wherever we get the chance. So far we’ve offered exclusive free pre-order costumes, an amazing digital version for PS Vita at no cost when you buy the PS3 version, frame-accurate cross-play, and now Kat and Emmett coming soon for free!
We’ll have more information about these characters and more DLC news coming soon, so stay tuned here for more announcements, and thanks again to everyone that has supported us as we prepare to cross the finish line. Come join the party on November 20th as PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale launches, and I’ll see you online!
Dante is getting there.
I can't figure Dante out... His range is low, you can attack between his hits, opposition can easily fall out of his combos, no draw in attack.... But I refuse to give up on him. It's just frustrating when a dude can pick Kratos and grab anyone out of a combo from a distance and ruin everything.
Kratos's > Square is dumb, but dante's combos work, you just have to trickster in and out of them quickly. For this, I'll call square 1, triangle 2, and circle 3. The thing with dante is he can convert nearly any hit into a combo
1 1 1 will always crumple. If you do crumple them, trickster into 2 (ebony and ivory), which will cancel into forward 2 (ebony and ivory rushdown or million dollars if you played MVC3) if you want to. Otherwise just trickster into forward 3 and immediately cancel back into 1, then up 1 for high time. From there you can either set up the hard knockdown tech chase with 1, up 1 (roulette spin), down 1 (helm breaker). Or you can instead set up the air tech chase with 1, 1, 1, trickster into 2, trickster into up 1 for prop shredder.
There are other setups with 1 1 1, like you can trickster 2, then back dash with 3 and immediately cancel it back into down 1 toward your falling enemy for the soft launch, up 2 to jump at them, then forward 3 and cancel back into his air series at a much lower height.
If you can get free reign to not get interrupted, Dante can build a stupid amount of meter easily. I tried him for awhile at first but eventually got annoyed by his limitations and have just been rocking Drake since then.
My friends and I used to gather to play a bunch of Smash Bros back in the day. Eventually got tired of it so lately if we gather we do something else while we're waiting for the next one. Is this worth getting for such an environment? Or is a group that is really into Smash Bros gonna hate it?
