    I'm getting old/nostalgia tripping balls

A few days ago I take an woman who is older than me to a night club that was playing "Oldies." I went in thinking I would hear music my parents used to listen to when I was a child. Much to my surprise, I hear shit I used to listen to when I was a kid. The whole date, I was in disbelief that music that I listened to is now considered "Oldies," not "80s" and "90s" anymore, like they used to be referred as.

When I got home, I started to remember popular things other than music from my childhood and it actually made me pretty sad that a lot of those TV shows, movies and video games aren't in the forefront of society anymore.

I guess I have to accept that I won't be young forever...

Wow, that is scary. Makes me feel old. I just had a nostalgia trip the other day when I was hanging out with a few friends. We were watching a compilation of TV show intros from the late 80s early 90s. Really brought back a lot of memories. Really doesn't seem that long ago to me, but I guess it has been quite some time. Really makes me wonder where all the time went...

I wonder how I will feel if I reach an old age, when the music we listened to in childhood years is considered no longer oldies, but "classics". >.<

I felt old the other day when Home Improvement came on and all I could see was wall to wall shoulder pads and big hair on women, and no gay jokes about Al.

So much racial profiling in the colors. Good times.

Don't forget the black ranger was the one who got a gun when the rest got martial arts weapons.

I miss Home Improvement so much. Oh, nostalgia is such a wicked thing. I also miss I Love Lucy, MASH, and other Nick At Night shows. I was an odd kid growing up, watching these shows in lieu of cartoons as a child. :D

I remember as a kid watching the old black and white Nick at Nite shows all night long in the summers, mainly because there were no cartoons and I would never sleep.

Though if you try watching it now you'll find shows like Home Improvement or Malcom in the Middle even. If that don't make you feel old, nothing will.

I knew a girl who referred to a song made in 2006 as an "oldie". This was in 2009.

So don't take it to heart.

Hearing nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, etc... on classic rock stations is the worst.

We have a station that plays all rock from the 80s and 90s and their tag line is "The Next Generation of Classic Rock". It's all hair bands and stuff like Pearl Jam, Bon Jovi, some Journey, and even Nirvana.

I still think of George Thorogood and the likes when I think Classic Rock. And why is Ren and Stimpy played between reruns of MASH now?

    I'm not even 30 yet...

This has to be the best expression I have heard in a long time.

But it is funny to me, watching a show I watched when I was younger.
I remember seeing certain characters as ancient, when in reality they were only maybe mid thirties or something... Funny how our perception of age changes as we grow up.

The Los Angeles Riots happened 20 years ago as of yesterday.

    Let that sink in.
