Fair enough, I personally don't see a Nightwing/Batgirl/Robin movie raking in that dough any time soon. From what I've seen with decent movies on that route, they tend to be translations of complete works and or graphic novels ala "Road to Perdition."
I stopped reading, Too many wall o texts
In all fairness, I see pretty much every action hero movie I can, especially if it's on IMAX or 3D or whatever. I don't particularly care to see a drama on the big screen unless it's a new Wes Anderson or P.T. Anderson or Aronofsky
if they made a Robin: Origins (Dick Grayson, w/e idc which Robin it is) so long as it's Frank Miller/300/Dark Knight Rising-esque and not Aeon Flux or Uwe Boll (duh) then I'd totally be down for it
sadly, I even watched the Immortals (do not recommend lol) but I was excited to see it beforehand -- and if the Raven didn't get 27% on RT, I wouldn't have given a 2nd thought to questioning whether I'd see it or not
That's why I was thinking that setting up the nightwing trilogy with a Batman and Robin origins movie would be a good idea. But tell the story from Dick Grayson's perspective. They can show what it's like to be raised by Bruce Wayne and the dynamic between their relationship, then end the first movie where they disband. The sequel would then follow Robin and his "rebirth" as Nightwing.
I feel like the Batman name would pull in the average movie goer all while appealing to the nerds who are in love with the Batman universe.
Yeah, that's true. But I still wouldn't put it past a studio to milk a franchise for all it's worth with spin-offs. And I really wouldn't be surprised to see them try a spinoff with JGL as Nightwing since this is the last Bale appearance in this very popular iteration of the franchise.
And they need to make a Doctor Doom movie. Fuck the Fantastic Four though. Make him fight the avengers or something.
did the wolverine movie bomb? it kinda sucked
it bombed, then we were told that Aronofsky was doing the next one in Japan but he left it. Fuck I was so excited for the prospect of that happening.
wiki says it made over 300M all told, ranked 5th the summer it was out for box office sales
but the movie was really weak regardless, I was really let down
Wolverine is so much cooler than Dink Grayson, I guess I could imagine that flopping/not pulling off well
but oh god, Aronofsky and anything (and I thought it was the hulk he was tied to, not wolverine?)
to be fair, I liked Wolverine a lot more in the animated series, his backstory really isn't all that interesting and the movie really made me less interested in him
when I said he was 'cooler' I suppose he has more arbitrary coolness, but from what the comic nerds in spam have talked about with all the Robins, I'd be more interested in a Robin: Origins than more Wolverine stuff
that 'stache is awful
I've always loved the mythology of Wolverine and him hundreds of years old and all the cloak and dagger black ops stuff stemming from Weapon X. I like that stuff way more than the standard X-Men story arcs or any of his involvement in that.
Wolverine: Origins was a pretty good series though.
Hugh Jackman is dreamy
