I know common opinion is to go Str/Dex for merits, but I'm having a tough time deciding not to do agi.

Drg, Cor, Dnc, Blu, Nin, Bst, Rdm in order of what attention I pay to my jobs gear. Str is already 12/12

Dex gives me crit rate and acc, which translates to all my melee jobs. Also improves my blu spells, and Almace/CDC, possibly Twashtar down the road.
Agi benefits some blu spells as well, as well as throwaway eva and subtle blow for all jobs. But it does give boosts to my Arma/Wildfire, Exenterator, Blade:Hi, and Last Stand.

tl;dr dex boosting across the board or agi boosting WS's on jobs I play a lot?

Really would kinda depend on which ones you use more and what you use them for. I'm thinking of doing agi because rng is my zerg job and my general do lots of dmg out of AOE range with low hate job. On top of Hi and such but it's still hard to decide over dex

2.) For RNG:
Been questioning the Ranged Accuracy augment on ASA Legs (with Barrage +1) and decided to change it since Barrage is always paired with Sharpshot and my accuracy should be capped.. so what's better with Barrage, Ranged Attack +7 or Critical Hit Damage +3%? Also, does Dead Aim effect Barrage?

Don't know if anyone has really tested what they do with avatars much. Adds to weather proc dmg so maybe it adds to weather bonuses of avatars!

set #1 has 26% haste, set #2 has 25 haste, but higher zanshin rate.

Which SAM 5-hit is more optimal?

I highly doubt it. If the elemental staves didn't help in their original form, then they probably won't in their current form. If you don't already own Prism regarding Iridescence, then you can test with any of the other weather related items items (Obis, Twilight Cape, Sorcerer's Tonban, Zodiac Ring). My gut says they won't work because it typically requires "Avatar" or "Pet" in the description (though Iridescence and Elemental Attack is a hidden effect). The day/weather Atmas help pets (Obi effect, without an Obi), but only because Atmas effect pets and their master.

If you already own the Crozier, then it should be better. Otherwise, you should be looking for a Soulscourge or doing some Magian trials for BPs and idling in the appropriate -Perp staff.

Edit: Even if Prism did work with pets, it is likely to only benefit magical BPs anyway.

Has absolutely nothing to do with Unkai Haidate, those just give an addtional 2.5% haste with Hasso. The Zanshin bonus is natural with Hasso up.

I think he meant the Domaru since that's the Empyrean+2 removed between the sets.

Domaru isn't required either, it's just more Zanshin for more proc rate.

The Hasso enhancement on the haidate is relevant because it allows you to cap total haste with 25% in gear (when receiving full magic haste) anyways.
